http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-2075457/Fobbed--Banks-set-miss-deadline-paying-billions-compensation-mis-sold-PPI-insurance--A-MILLION-complaints-cope-with.html?ito=feeds-newsxmlFrom January 1, all banks will have to deal with complaints relating to PPI within eight weeks, the FSA has said. It has previously allowed Lloyds, Barclays and RBS extra time (see report, below).
Based on cases being reported to Financial Mail and our sister website thisismoney.co.uk, the banks will fail to meet these deadlines. Numerous cases have emerged where Lloyds promised customers redress in August, but where no money has yet been paid.
One former Lloyds staffer suggested that the bank, which has generated more complaints to Financial Mail than any other, is misleading customers. ‘We told customers we would resolve their complaint within eight weeks when we had cases over a year old,’ the former employee says. ‘Lloyds has to be the worst of them all.’0 -
