I have just been told that a chaps payment was paid today and i will see it in my account today.The following is of the uk payments admin website.

CHAPS Sterling is a same-day automated payment system for processing sterling payments made within the UK, between its member banks.

The main benefit of CHAPS is that it is fast as the money is transferred the same day. Unlike other forms of payment such as cheques, CHAPS payments are irrevocable.

CHAPS Sterling is one of the largest real-time gross settlement (RTGS) systems in the world. Banks themselves use CHAPS to move money around the financial system, but it is also used regularly for other types of payments including:
business-to-business payments;
by solicitors/licensed conveyancers to transfer the purchase price of a house between the bank accounts of those involved;
by individuals buying or selling a high-value item, such as a car, who need a secure, urgent, same-day guaranteed payment.

So it looks like someone maybe of been telling you porkies!

13weeks today since my offer letter with interest paid till 13/10
the recalculations letter sent on 2/12 still hasnt arrived
letter from A.barry sent on the 29/11 still hasnt arrived
no reply to my emails :sad:

just called them. They really do not know what they are talking about, I do actually feel sorry for the helpline staff as the young lady I spoke with (no longer welsh employees so goodness knows where the calls are now being directed to) was clearly quite flustered and did not know how to answer my questions.

I was told that a number of e-mails had been passing between the CEO's office, my MP and others and that an emergency payment had been requested on 13th Dec (so why haven't I had this?) and that they are now waiting for payment to be made but "rest assured you are at the very top of the priority list" ha I've heard that one before.

I asked how the payment would be made i.e. BACS, CHAPS and she said direct into my current account to which I asked if that was by faster payment credit and she said yes BACS - not faster payment then. Told also that BACS should take 3 - 5 working days - what a load! Ah well I will keep checking my bank account and will now ring daily I think. Got to keep the pressure up!:D

Original calc offer letter received 12th September...

No re-calc letter or apologee letter...

No payment received what so ever!

Rang them today and was told it will be with you any day now.

I've been waiting 100 days today since offer letter of 15K.

Seriously fed up now

I've been told today that my payment has been made by chaps today but it has,nt shown in my account yet.Is this normal?

I am so frustrated keep being told that my case is being escalated, as its for a credit card and the hold ups are for loans, yeah right!!!

I was told that last tues when i called back they then said chaps raised but up to 10days for a chaps to be authorised ...!!

Im in the same boat i put claim in june pheld letter sept full calculation letter oct with interest payed till nov 23rd its now dec19th so ive just phoned again n got no information or help atall so i went in to my branch at tsb they said its npthing to do with them so much for customer service thanos tsb for a lovely christmas x
