we are behind a wireless router with a NAT firewall and have Windows Firewall turned on, so safe from inbound threats. Don't run a separate software firewall at the moment, waiting for the Eset Security Suite to appear as I run Eset's NOD32 antivirus - which also protects against spyware, adware, rootkits, and more.

also run AVG Antispyware weekly to check if anything crept through (never has) and every now and again use the Kaspersky Online scanner.

and the best security practice....common sense!

So having downloaded Ccleaner and set it going, it comes up with a list of "problems". Is it safe then to "run" the cleaner to delete all it has come up with, or should I be aware of anything prior to deleting?

    Help please!!

PS - And what is secretmaker, as in the last couple of posts?

I have always deleted everything and not found any problems. You can choose not to delete individual things if you are not sure for instance I choose to not have the recycle bin emptied.

I have Windows XP, Norton updated security within the last three months, and have downloaded the free Adaware SE Personal, Spybot and Ccleaner.

Norton is picking up that not only am I getting attempts to hijack my computer but also some not so nice person is sending e-mails with some form of virus in the e-mail attachment (I never open e-mails from persons I do not know).

    My query is:

Is there any other form of (free preferably) anti-virus type stuff that I can download for - hopefully - increased security, but that will not conflict with my system?
