    Hi,
I use sandboxie to sandbox my web browser and I also use Comodo Internet Security Premium.

    Both are free :-)

    Edit: Sorry, I forgot one...

I also have Trusteer Rapport installed (my banks suggestion). Although, I have to run the web browser outside of sandboxie in order to utilise Rapport.

    I hope this helps.

I've tried to download Microsoft Security Essentials, but seems it only likes Internet Explorer or Firefox. I use Opera. Is it worth changing to a browser I don't like (IE, haven't tried Firefox) just to get the Security Essentials?

  • Not true for a home or OEM machine, whatever your problem is with Opera is nothing to do with the MS site or with the MSE.msi. The no-cost anti-malware package was licensed for the small business sector just before Xmas.

Most techie-type people I know eschew IE in favour of Firefox.

I forgot to mention Trusteer Rapport in my post 2102. It protects passwords, HSBC recommended it to me.

Anyone who suggests Crapport on a techie site is entitled to an opinion, but I would choose your techie more carefully my friend. Perhaps you should do just a little work on the Okie Island stuff yourself there is plenty of info available in the search engines before you make such a recommendation here on this forum :D

If users are silly enough to use the same password for different sensitive sites, no-one can protect them.

    - read again, you recommended it and said it """ protects passwords """ - read again my friend, its snake oil !

    - 6 character passwords and then ask for three
    - so with one capture I can have 3 out of 4 PIN digits
    - that's half the password

With more than one capture ?, I've got the whole thing and compliments of Rapport I've been handed it for each of the 85% of all online customers who use the same password for different sites.

Trusteer's Rapport gives security 'guaranteed' even if your machine is infected with malware according to their marketing department. Now any security professional worth his salt will tell you that this is rubbish and you should run a mile from claims like this. If a PC is infected, a bank / any bank should NEVER EVER use it for online transactions,

"To protect you against phishing attacks Rapport learns the password (and sometimes even the username) you use with protected websites What? Where and how does it store these? What ?
