Hi there jakes-mum. The Christmas tree sounds lovely.

Nice saving, Hiddenidentity and thanks very much for bumping the other thread, much appreciated.

Hiya LC 2, you paint a lovely warm picture there with the knitting, snug as a bug.

BTW I won't be putting the Grand Total on for a day or two as folk are still declaring on the old thread. Some have been ill which is to be expected at this time of year so I want to give them all a chance.

However, you can be sure I will put it on just as soon as I can - I want to do so, just as much as you all want to see it, we just need to be a little patient. I can tell you we've beaten last year's GT though!!!! :grinheart

  • Ok folks I need some help about my potting. Do I count just what I put in the Pot or can I also add money I put in the bank. Im only asking because |I was given money by my Great Aunt and I dont think its very moneysaving if I put it in my pot rather than my ISA. can I include this?

I too save all coins here, except the £2 for the £2 savers challenge. I don't include that total on this thread as I feel like I have two seperate money pots which I can save for two different things that way. But I know Sue was saying when I declared my SPC4 total that many people do include it as it is all saving and that is all that counts. Entirely up to you I feel :)

EDIT: Although reading fishcakes question I do put money into my ISA everyweek and don't include that here either as its not physically gone in my pot. But that is just me - I would save that anyway as it comes straight out my wages so I don't feel I have put any effort into saving that cash and therefore it isn't worthy to be counted!!! I realise I sound mad, I seem to have a different rule for myself to what I think everyone else should include!! It is all saving and I don't think it matters where it comes from or goes into and should all be counted...........except I'm still not including ISA or £2's in my SPC5 total :rotfl:

  • Afternoon all

Well i didnt pot yesterday as we were away, but i did manage to steal £1.71 in change (mainly 5p's and coppers) from my Hubby. I didn't do it very well as i told him i had done it. We have seperate pots so i feel it was a bit of a victory for my pot. :j

I am also only planning to include my potted money and not any other money i may or may not be able to save during the next year.

I think i may also be doing the virtual sealed pot challenge without realising, as each day i transfer the odds and sods from my bank account to a savings account to round my account down to an even amount. Be interesting to see what i can get by doing this also.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
