Hiya sparky, what on earth's a tontine? Or is it Liverpudlian lingo? £20 a week???!!
A tontine is a Christmas saving club, the £20 a week is the money I would have paid off my credit card bills, so I won't miss it and I'll have £1000 to put towards our trip to New York & Chicago in February 2013.
BTW I've now paid off 75% of my credit thanks to the O/Time.Sparky0107 - Sealed pot challenge member #002. Total for SPC3 £1,030.57 Total For SPC 4 £2247.00 Total for SPC 5 £2574.62 :T Total for SPC 6 £4552.91:T

I am defo joining in again for 2012! Am thrilled to have saved £340, as some may remember from my posts it is the first time we (I) have saved as a household and I loved doing it!!
Am 4 days post sinus op (thankyou Sue-UU for your kind words before my op :A) still v weak, some pain and v dizzy hoping that goes soon, surgeon said he had alot of work to do, was under 2 &1/2 hours as alot of congestion loads of polyps and infection in all my tubes (sorry if you are eating!) so my face is v raw inside and sore still. The worst bit is he told me he believes it is all caused by an allergy to dust,,now I clean 12 houses a week (5/6hrs a day) and LOVE working for myself,,but have been feeling so very ill constantly for over a yearI already wore a mask and used all natural products am so gutted I will have to stop work and find something else, am dreading telling my cleans due back with them all in Jan. Oops sorry, I have gone off topic (it is nice to unload though!) I have £150 saved left from my pot, and now more than ever I really am so grateful to this thread and joining the challenge, I would never have saved if I hadnt seen the thread,,THANKYOU to all that post. That's ok then, Kerry, though in all honesty I did wonder if you were away working as before. Just take care wherever you are, have a good relaxing weekend.
Marvellous news about your hubby helping you save too, Wyre, it really makes a difference.
Hubby took shopping over to an elderly neighbour, and as we'd already paid for the goods up front, he gave me all of what she paid him.....for the pot!!!! So, that's a whole £14.21!!!!!!!! :j I've waited nearly a week for that!!:snow_grin :xmassign: :xmastree: Sue x :xmastree: :xmassign: :snow_grinAnyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's never too late.
