Had the car MOT and service plus a small repair on Mon so that was £210 lighter and the tax is up too:mad:.
DD1 also came home with a trip to Berlin for next yr. Drum roll pls for the price...........£520,bargain!!!!!
I hear you on the expensive school trips. DD2 has a trip to London for a week coming up and it's £750  DD1 went a couple of years back and had a brilliant time. Didn't really think about it at the time, but as we let her go, it's only fair we let the other 3 have the chance.0 -
Morning all.
No, still no photo to be seen, Ruth. Have another go.
Lovely to see you, toriaterrier, I hope your little one's doing well.rosyq wrote:I seem to have run out of steam with my pottingAlso I was hoping to pay a bit off my mortgage this month, following Sparky's good example, but it looks like I won't have any money left! Hey ho. Maybe it'll get better next month.
So sorry to hear that, Rosy, you sound quite low too. Never lose hope that tomorrow or next week/month might be better for you though...
....you too, Kerfuffle! Good to see you back.
I'm not much different to you, Rosy & Kerfuffle as I seem to be having so many more NSDs than anything else.
{{{Hugs}}} to us all girls and may thinks soon pick up.
Beautiful down here, sparky, not quite so good as yesterday, but not complaining.
Very well done with having saved £100 already, ModestyB!! Brilliant news and well done with the lottery win!!sparky0107 wrote:Sue how warm is it now? The weather's strange
It was a great day after the cold, dull start, sparky - a few more of em to come too! Then *iddling down all through the summer!!!
I know what you mean about treating them all alike, Saramond, but do they think folk have never ending supplies. £750 is colossal!!!
After saying I barely get any cash lately, DH comes in the £3.72 last night!!!!! Chuffed to bits with that!!!Keep safe and well everyone and enjoy the weather, if you're able.

I know what you mean about running out of steam, rosyq. I've been feeling a bit sulky and teenage about saving vs spending.
My rebellion involved having a medium mocha instead of my usual short latte for my weekly coffee. I was feeling like a naughty kid about it until I realised the difference was 30p. Apparently that counts as a splurge for me now? How times have changed.
I was listening to a podcast this morning that was talking about rationing and "make do and mend". I find it hard to understand what people went though back then. If people remember rationing then it must blow their minds to see how much we have available now (and how much we chuck out).
I think I may find myself thinking about this more- it puts things in perspective somewhat. Thank you for letting me waffle.:)Sealed pot challenger#1677

Ruth, have a look on page 1, there's a link there through to what jammie dodger says is the best way. Either that or PM nu1isit?, he won't mind and will tell you exactly.
Good luck and never give up!
