Evening all, been out up town with DH today, spent a fortune. Had dinner & pud at our favourite town pub. Bought me some new clothes from Prim@rk, a music book for DH and the takeaway secret for me from the W0rks, 2 pairs of drumsticks for DGS plus a few other bits and pieces. Then I went to Mr M's with DD. Nuff said. Actually only spent £8 odd at Mr M's. What all this is leading to is, I have actually had some change to pot! I've left £10 in my purse and potted £7.07.
Forgot to say, that includes two lovely £2 coins and a 5p roadkill.

Hi Kerfuffle :hello: so good to see you back, I started to wonder if you'd wandered off into the Rockies or had snow problems again. Not bad savings!
Might try and pot a £1 a day from March. Might make me feel like i'll have something useful in the pot by November. I guess it depends what my allocated spends are for the week.

I'm always really impressed by the amounts people can pot and it definitely keeps me motivated.

Give it a try ETO, if you get tighter weeks at least you'll know you're doing all you can in the better ones. :D I love your last paragraph, I think coming to the thread gives us all the incentive to go all out and do a little more - where possible.

166million, it's so good that you AND your DH have such great saving minds, you'll certainly benefit so much over the years.

[Quotemumwithamission]I'm a park far way and walk in kind of girl! Refused to pay parking for months :) [/quote]

Marvellous news mumwithamision!!!! I don't blame anyone, who's able to do so, to save their cash rather than fund...fund what????! Whatever it was in the outset it's gone way over the top now!!!

Sounds like a really wonderful day that you both enjoyed, ModestyB....some savings too!!!

Quite nippy out there down here this morning too, b_e_g, swings 'n roundabouts with the weather at the mo much like my savings!

Good to see you, toriaterrier, though it's understandable that you do have other things to keep you occupied with your litle treasure. :A

Not long til your DW's GREAT surprise now then, sparky!!!!!!;)

Well done, skilly, welshone, and you too Kerry. :j

Awww, bless your little DD, nu1isit?, they always copy the parents so keep at it and she will. May even give :money: a run for his money later on in life.
Have a really lovely Sunday everyone and...wrap up warm!

  • hi,

not much has been potted over the past couple of weeks due to the nice ppl at EDF upping my gas payments by £29 a month (my cheap tarrif ended :( and now on their standard one). this means that i now have more going out than coming in......well it does until tomorrow when my son has been given the 2yr old nursery funding - so that means i dont have to pay for that anymore!!!

anyway there has been a little go in to it that i have found as roadkill, we have a new tesco store opened across the road and in the past week i have found 17p in 1p/2p on the floor outside (along with receipts) etc.
due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

DH decided that he was having a pub night so kids and I decided we were having a cake and icecream pudding night :D so popped into waitr0se on the way back from dropping him off and as we were stood at the till I spy mr 2p glinting at me from by the window, I dutifully deploy Jake on a mission to obtain it for me and while im waiting the cashier gives me a lovely £2 coin in my change :D:D

so another £2.02 in the pot :D
Isn't it amazing how finding 2p can make us soooo happy:D. My DH is still convinced I'm a complete nutter but I don't care every penny some poor unwitting fool drops is a penny waiting to be dropped into MY pot so bring it on :D:DXX
