  • Had a fantastic day in Liverpool. Went to the Maritime museum and the Tate. (DD! taking GCSE art next yr so well impressed with it and fab ideas for homework projects.

Trip into Liverpool one. I bought a present for a friends birthday that cost me £20 but between 3 of us so cheap for something that she will love.

DD1 and 2 bought something from Claires out of pocket money and DS bought some new trainers for £30 instead of £50 out of his Christmas money.

Picknic for lunch and only £8 all day parking so cheap day all round.

Sparky left you the road kill (only because I didn't see any):rotfl:

Good to hear you enjoyed out fair city and you managed to bag some bargains :T. I'm in work grabbing again 12 hours Sat & Sun :j

Left a tantalizing envelope on the fire place for my DW which has written in large letters "Only to be opened on the 23rd Februaury in NYC" This is my lovely DW's surprise, she's been shaking it all night and asking me questions about what's in it, but she's just going to have to wait ;)

    Have a great day :)

That is soo mean !!! Are you sure she won't steam open the envelope ,:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Morning LC2
I haven't been to the museum since I was in school, that's where I got my education from, I hated school and spent a lot of time sagging ;). Shhhh don't tell my mum though, she'd batter me senseless if she knew :D

I only found out a couple of years ago that one of my sons did that . Came up in a family party when his sister was saying how fed up she used to get of teachers asking her where he was :eek::eek:

Excellent news about your savings from last summer, kylieminoag! Extremely well done.

Not to worry, supasick, it's good you had it to hand for a needy time.

However a little sad that some guy ahead of me on the way home yesterday picked up a £10 note, and bragged about it to his friend!

(Who casually drops a £10 note anyway?!)

I don't think anyone just casually drops a £10er at all, ElmerFudd. I found a £5er 3 or 4 weeks ago, I bet that wasn't just casually dropped either, more likely to have slid out of a back/coat pocket and been very sadly missed on the person discovering it's loss.My gain yes, but it didn't mean I couldn't spare a thought for the poor person who lost it.

I detest it when people brag about such things and refer to folk as fools etc. It's possible for anyone to lose cash or notes - us too!!

Well done, 166million, you're off to saving your first - million!

Good for you with your e-bay £10er, little_sweetie, at least it makes the cinema costs a little easier to bear.

It may not be exciting, Rosy, but I bet to your Mum it's so special. :)

This is my first week of sealed pot challenge and managed to put in £4.70

Usually I would spend it on coffee but didn't. :j

Brilliant news Caroline, keep doing that and you'll soon save LOTS!

Good to hear your poor DH comes in handy LC 2. You both put me in mind of our Liz and a lady in waiting!!!

Sounds like a great time for you all mumof3....but all day parking a massive £8?!!!!

    Well done Pmo2. :)

a £10er in the pot after shopping yesterday!

Have a really lovely weekend all.

  • 15p this morning.

If I spend money today there might be some more for the pot. If I don't spend money today I've got enough in my purse to last the week. It's a win-win situation!
  • 17p for me today, left from my weeks spends.

Might try and pot a £1 a day from March. Might make me feel like i'll have something useful in the pot by November. I guess it depends what my allocated spends are for the week.

I'm always really impressed by the amounts people can pot and it definitely keeps me motivated.

    Have a good weekend all.

Oooh sparky, you are such an exciting man to live with! Life must never be dull in sparky towers! I can't wait for the surprise to be revealed myself :D

Potted a measly 5p left from food money as OH wants a bit of steak for tea tonight and I can't really refuse as he's working a 9 hour shift :o I did find a shiny 2p roadkill though...potted!

    Happy potting everyone!

    Hi LC2
I park in Jamaica street or the surrounding roads in that area, no double yellows & free parking, just short walok into town from there. :D

The envelope is well & truly cellotaped shut, she was shaking it and asking what was in it, I told her it wouldn't be a surprise the ;)

    Hi everyone,

A lovely £1.85 potted today which is the change left over from last weeks budget. Also a £5 note which has been added to my regular saver so quite a good week :j

I've got a really expensive t!sco shop coming up - you know the one where all the expensive things are running out - so next week might be a bit of a struggle :(

    Enjoy the weekend :):)
