65p change for the pot yesterday after hubby went to get a couple of beers from the corner shop. Definitely needed it after driving home with the maniacs I had to deal with on Coventry and Nuneaton's roads.
Took the bus today. Found no roadkill on it, nor in the University Library
Out for lunch today so won't be a NSD but the [STRIKE]out[/STRIKE] in-laws are cooking dinner tonight so something to look forward to

An almost full pot already shows some really great savings for you, Hiddenidenity.

Please can i be added

I've become slightly addicted to saving money just recently. I can't wait for my wages to go in each month so i can add to my savings account lol.
I do have one question about the pot. I currently save every 20p i get. Can that be counted? I use it every year to buy myself a new camera so with the pot i'll probably treat myself to some accessories to
Thanks

Hello everyone!
Please can i be part of this? I have been a lurker for a while now and reading these boards have spurred me on to get my a** in gear and do something about my spending! Have started already putting bits n bobs of change into a jar (hidden from the hubby cos he will steal it for his nauhty smoking habit :-/) Havent been keeping track of whats gone in up to now but there is a £5 note in there which would usually been spent on some rubbish lol!
Have also reined in my shopping/spending habit over the last 2 weeks and actually have money in my bank to spare :-D Thanks to everyone who posts on all of these boards i prob wouldnt even have tried if it wasnt for all of you
Oh and 31 pennies going in my jar now, change left from bread n milk run

Morning all!
Samtoby I hope you have a better day today, I hate it when work builds up like that.Is there such a thing as desk kill?? Was cleaning out my desk and came across 14p, so of to the pot it went. Very slow on the potting front as am having to have a lot of nsd's due to a budget that is tighter than a badgers bum. Come on pay day I want to get potting!!!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I know what you mean, couldn't have expressed it that well myself though!!
I'm off work again today and feeling a bit down, need to do something to lift my spirits - any ideas?"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012

Went to the shops for 1 item only (trying to be good and only buy food we need) and they didn't have it so will make do with what we've got and I potted £1 instead

£4 added to the pot today (coffee saving plus saving from having tea at home rather than in cafe with knitting group).
I think one of the benefits of this way of saving is that the money saved feels “real” (it has weight and makes a noise- it’s not just a figure on a screen), which makes it more satisfying (no wonder kids like their piggy banks). Before, I think the money I was spending on coffee/chocolate/magazines etc didn’t feel as real as what I was spending it on, because the saving wasn’t as obvious- money not spent would have just stayed in my purse, unquantified, and rolled over to the next time.
