Hello all, I am back :T

I joined last year and had to open my pot and then got totally demotivated BUT, looking at the the totals etc I am really going to try hard this year! I have potted some loose change and am going to carry on with surveys etc and pop all that money into my pot! I hope that I do not need to open my pot this time round.

    Good luck everyone :)

We did our weekly shopping yesterday. DH put his change in before we went for this week's money from the Post Office and then I put the change from the shopping in - a whole 4p. We wrote a list of what we wanted and stuck to it - spent £40.51 out of £50. DH keeps the money and he gave me (for some reason) his wallet - for the £40 - plus a £1 coin a 50p and a 5p, so I potted the expected 4p and the pound coin. This has left him with £10 from this week's shopping.Hopefully we'll have enough to pay for diesel at the beginning of February.

My 'adopted' daughter and her children have been moved to Liverpool by the Home Office (they are Asylum seekers from Cameroon) as she and her husband have parted, so visiting them will cost more - though as we all have bad coughs we won't go until I, at least, feel better. My car is a lifeline - I use a disability scooter other than drive which they won't allow on buses, trains etc., but I refuse to fill it more than once a month. If it runs short we stay in :D.

    Happy Potting one and all.

This challenge reminds me of something I did when I was a teenager to save some money, I'd put every 20p piece I was given in change or happened to have in my pocket at the time into a jar and then count it up and spend it at christmas, I'd usually save quite a decent amount by the end of the year so I'm up for this!

I already have a 'policy' where my kids get all the copper change I get. It keeps them happy and they get to spend it every few months on toys once it stacks up.

Count me in! No target, but I'm going to do a similar thing as before, but probably with a higher value coin this time, not decided which yet but I reckon I could stick a fair bit away in a year!
