Old Street smelt like a public toilet this morning, it was quite disgusting. Then I found 1p roadkill outside the Mr S, so that kinda made up for it. Still.... these bankers should know better surely.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I think one of the benefits of this way of saving is that the money saved feels “real” (it has weight and makes a noise- it’s not just a figure on a screen), which makes it more satisfying (no wonder kids like their piggy banks). Before, I think the money I was spending on coffee/chocolate/magazines etc didn’t feel as real as what I was spending it on, because the saving wasn’t as obvious- money not spent would have just stayed in my purse, unquantified, and rolled over to the next time.
I couldn't agree more RedGoose and that's why spending on a card doesn't take much effort. It never seems like real money you're spending! I pay cash whenever I can because it's harder to part with :rotfl:
Today started pretty rough. I went to weightwatchers for the first time since before Christmas (I'm a Gold member so it's free) and I've gained 5 1/2 pounds  So that's why my trousers feel tightOops back to the diet... I felt so depressed that I bought a raffle ticket in the class for 50p and won a £2 voucher, quickly redeemed on some WW bars to help me lose this excess weight! I popped into Morrisons for some bread and tried to cheer myself up with a scratchcard (naughty, I know) but I won £5!:T This is turning into a brilliant day!!
Now just about to search the cupboards for healthy food....
PS potted £4 (the £5 win minus the cost of the scratchcard)
Happy potting everyone! xSealed Pot Challenge #012

Hopefully a NSD tomorrow, so probably nothing to pot. But will be back to read the pages that seem to appear out of nowhere whilst i am at work. :rotfl:
I am also not potting a great deal at the moment, as it defeats the object for me to pot all my change to then break into a note to give me more to pot then being unable to get to the end of the month without dipping into the OD or using CC because it is all in my pot. (are you still with me???)
So am trying to be careful. But as others have said whatever i/ we have at the end of the year is better than we would have had if we werent a part of this [STRIKE]mad [/STRIKE] sorry eccentric little, but ever growing community. :j
Well done to Jakes-dad on the new job.
samtoby - sending hugs to you. It's always good to have a good ole cry.
Hope everyone else is well.

I agree I was thinking a lot about this to. I'm trying to have as many nsd as possible. I'm putting $1.00 into my pot for everyday I don't spend, my goal is to save $500 but whatever I end with will be better than nothing.potting#16900 -
Morning all!
Samtoby I hope you have a better day today, I hate it when work builds up like that.
Hey thanks, I am feeling much better. I have had a stressful few weeks and this has caused me to get blinking cold sores. How attractive! NOT.
Look after myself a little better with lots of wine at the weekend lol3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Hi all, welcome to all my fellow newbies on this challenge. Managed to pot £10.16p today, 1p of which was roadkill. I still need to put money on my phone though, luckily I have loads of free texts to use up. I have taken advice from lots of you about using cash instead of plastic, I've hidden my DC and CC away and if I need any more money before payday, I'll just have to do without.
I'm a bit worried about the amount in my SP hanging about the house, DH & DD are nagging me, saying if we're burgled, it's all gone. Would it be alright to put it in a bank account every so often as long as I add it to my sig? I was thinking of maybe opening an ISA with it, if it's in the ordinary account, it will get used.
TIA.
(((Hugs to Sparky, Samtoby, and all of you who need one.)))
