  • Me too! (spending so much time on here)
feeling slightly disheartened that I haven't found a single penny as roadkill! Got quite excited yeaterday in the garden when I saw something glinting in the grass - but it was a plastic toy coin!
Managing £1/day and a few 5p's - am worried that if I save the coppers my pot will overflow by the summer - still saving them, but elsewhere.
Hoping for a Quidco payout soon that I can stash away. Well done everyone on their efforts so far - what a brill thread!

It's never too late to join us, Miss149, Niknak19841, Dee_cb. A warm welcome aboard and have fun saving. :D You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on post 4 of page 1. Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how the challenge works.

    * Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much.
...have been reading this post for a while and am so inspired to start saving properly! I've read the first post but is there anything you're not allowed to put in the pot or is any money fair game??

Niknak19841, good to see you're inspired to start saving. Mostly anything is allowed, but no, it is not a case of "any money fair game" - So long as it's legitimate and doesn't hurt anyone then most things are ok; however, any sum that's bequeathed isn't allowed as it wouldn't be fair to others. * I'm not sure why you asked the question, but I'd be glad to know what exactly you have in mind?

Don't worry, samtoby, it's not just you, I've more or less given up on FB, it's ok for a while, but...! :( At least here we can learn things to help ourselves, not bad eh.

Great news chiefsfanuk, about the cash you've found AND another day chalked up without fags in your life!!! :T Just use the E-cig for as long as is needed, just as an aid, not long enough to take you back to the real thing.

    Oh, very well done, Delilah!

Hi fishcakes, a £5er's a lovely round sum, good for you!

Are you sure that 1p wasn't mine, Muppet_baby?!! A good day's work for you all in all.

I quite agree re FB, Rosy, well done on the cash injection.

See, Janey, your Dad had great foresight :D

What a great day you've had, kobrakai, it pays to complain.
Right then goodnight everyone, have a good night and a lovely day tomorrow.

    Sue x
Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's never too late.

Please read the 1st post on Page 1 first so you know what's what.

Thanks for the info, Kerfuffle, so you could say you were a little bit loonie this morning. :rotfl:You ok today Kerf??!! Just noticed your reply to Oops and I'd be questioning it, in a nice way.

What can I say, I'm a slave to my hormones. I just woke up in a chatty mood this morning, but you're all safe now, it's well and truly worn off. Back to being a grumpy-puss (until the next time).

Have one of these, go on, you know you want to.....

    Thank you :kisses3:

    Oh Kerfuffle

I Missed this post earlier !! We could have some of those buses here:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Many thanks to all who have commented on my stolen eggs - much appreciated.
It's not the first time this has happened, but every time it's upsetting. I just have to have a longer view on this matter. I used to put 4-6 trays out at any one time but after having all of them stolen one day, I now only put out one tray at at time and drive down to the gate on a very regular basis to check if it needs replenishing - seemed to work better until today.

Thanks Sue-UU but the house is quite a way off the road, so it wouldn't work to sell them at the door. Just had a thought - to come to the door they would pass the chickens and I certainly don't want any of them taken.

It certainly isn't any of the neighbours as its a very small but lovely community where we live, all are of a semi or retirement age and most are slightly potty, but we prefer to say eccentric. There's still loads of life left in us 55+ year olds. Last year when we were snowed in, with no power and the trees were down on the lane we had bar-b-ques in the snow, huge casseroles/soup for sharing cooked by those who had wood powered stoves or woodburners, the alcohol flowed and the eggs were free.

But on the plus side I am member of this thread and people post ALL day long! :D xx

Hi, Samtoby, I just talked to my husband about this today. I can't wait to see who posted what. MSE friends keep us motivated because we share the same goals. :)
