Potted another £2 today but no road kill despite lots of looking - and a fair amount of annoying people in town because I'm not looking where I'm going and bump into them! :rotfl::rotfl:

Zafiro, I think stealing eggs from you like that is just wrong, and I really hope you don't have any more of it.

Still enjoying this thread - I've never been on Facebook so can't compare but this is a friendly place, especially for a newbie, so I think I'll stay :)

    Cheers

alert! evryone drop what you are doing and immediately make your way to coat pockets! I have just had a rummage through the coats hanging up and found 3 pennies!!!

p.s. Make sure they are your coats obviously...

I used to do this as a child and did quite well out of it! I tried it yesterday and found some hair clips and a lot of poo bags :o

I had to wait till I was grown up and working before I got mine:)
£2 coin in the pot today btw

    Oops x

Sadly no, but my friend has six so I usually ride once a week!

Potted 4p today in change from Tesco. Was very pleased today as I had a look at calenders and reduced Christmas cards in WHSmith but decided not to as I was hoping to get a reduced calender. Then went to tesco and found the same calender at half price and a box of cards for 50p! A saving of £3.50!

£14 potted today (in my handy Lush tin that doubles as a money box!) - I got a voucher off First for complaining about their beyond shoddy service, which'll get me a ticket worth £19.50, so that's some money saved right there (except I only had £14 in my purse, hah)

    Hi Sparky,

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this in the past or not, but over here a dollar coin is referred to as a Loonie (because of the bird on the coin), and a two dollar coin is called a Toonie. When I go to the bank to get change I have to be careful how I speak and pronunciate because the staff in the bank get confused easily, for example if I want ten one dollar coins I can't say "can I have ten, dollar coins?" because they think I'm asking for a ten dollar coin (which as far I know doesn't exist), so it's much easier to ask for ten loonies :rotfl:which I have difficulty keeping a straight face for.
There also used to be a bus to the ski hill which cost a dollar for the ride, you've guessed it, it was called the Loonie Bus :rotfl:

Sorry, I think I've woken up in a giggley mood today

    Oh Kerfuffle

I Missed this post earlier !! We could have some of those buses here:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

£5 something potted.....I didn't look properly before I put it in the pot. Stupid me.....

Am I the only one that instead of being logged into Facebook all day is now logged into MSE all the time!!!! I have it on my browser at work; and check it on my breaks.....see if anyone has written on the boards I am subscribed to....

But on the plus side I am member of this thread and people post ALL day long! :D xx

Nope! You're not the only one. I can't believe how many hours I spend reading posts on here every day. The only time I go on FB now is when there's a friend's birthday. DH still moans but now it's about MSE instead of FB. :rotfl: He shouldn't really, we're saving money now. :D :T

Thanks guys, I may just start potting it you know, it would be £6.50 every two days so I am actually thinking of transferring it to my ISA and saving up for something really special like taking the kids on their first holiday abroad or something. If I am really having a weak moment I may put the cash in my pot though as a physical act of encouragement for myself.

I am using an E-lite electric ciggy to help but finding I am not needing to use it too much, does help with the habit as well as the addiction though, I recommend them for anyone trying to give up!

Well, all the kids are in bed, hubby home from work in a minute, so I am going to have a search around the house now for some pennies now, then maybe get on here and do some comps, then head to bed... keeping myself busy is very important to keep the smokes at bay!!

Enjoy the rest of your evening potters! xxxx

I don't know how these work but I've seen them a lot on groupon for, supposedly, half price or better if anyone is interested in them. HTH.
