Madmoneysavingmum - You're so right about the children getting there too quickly. I've scoured the house over the weekend to find housekill and what does my eldest do the second she gets up this morning? Spots 2p sitting on the bookshelf! She was very good though, as I got her to put it in the money pot rather than in her little purse.

I've managed to grab the office chocolate tin left over from Christmas, so I'll be taking that home to make our proper pot with. :o

Right, off out for a lunchtime walk. ;)

I have been smoke free for one week today :D That alone has saved me approx £26 this year!!! Makes me think I should be putting my quit smoking savings in the jar, imagine that across a year

I really recommend you do this, I did it with Dh and it really helped him stay smoke free, every 2 days £6 went in the tin (well untill he convinced me to sign him up to the gym that he only went to for a month  :rotfl: then I took that out his 'fag' money') after 5 monthsish he had £265 in there   even he was upset by how much he wasted on those sticks :(

Oh and very well done on the 1 week :D I didnt crave myself when I gave up, but watching DH go through the withdrawal was something I hope to never see again

Well here I am again, joined ages (years) ago, then had a slight hiccup (went BR) and am now scrabbling back into the light again. So saving is a plus for me this year. Trying all sorts, including coming back on here. Dusting off my lovely terramundi and first bit of change will be in there at the weekend (not before as I am totally broke and dependant on every penny this week for petrol/food money)

So hello again, and I'm looking forward to saving with you all this year
To those who are given much, much is expected

          1. 65p to the pot today, not a lot but it would have only gone on chocolate if it had stayed in my purse which would have resulted in me gaining the wrong kind of pounds! :D

Been a bit of a spendy day for me, but have had two NSDs this weekend and have now emptied my purse of all but £2 which I am saving in case we need milk towards the end of the week. Don't think that I will need to buy anything else this week so will keep my eyes peeled for road kill, and if we don't need milk the pot will get the £2!

            Love this challenge :money:
