    good evening potters

magic to see everyone going great guns with this lovely new sealed pot challenge and seeing the fabulous totals folk are declaring its an incenative to tuck that loose coinage safely away :D

im gonna try and put a bit more away with the savings i would of spent on white sticks and see how it goes as no matter how skint i would of felt i would of still bought the damn things so its into the pot the money will go :D

am also trying to have as many no spend days it means i am saving as not popping out to shops but no coinage today ..a double edge sword ...but guess its all saving

have a happy weekend whatever your plans

Take it you've packed up smoking? Well done! I gave up twelve years ago now, best thing I ever did. You're gonna smell lovely, with nice clean fingers and teeth AND have loads more money too. Result! :T:T:T

    Hi

I thought I'd join this very successful thread.

I'm going to save coppers and 5p and 10p pieces for my daughter's wedding, she's getting engaged this month and while the wedding will not be for 2/3 years I'd like to save towards the costs. I'm also going to save £2 coins for a new fridge-freezer once the HA gives me a new kitchen, this will be in 2012/3 sometime so I've got a long time to save:rotfl:.

I will be 'fiscally challenged' from January so although what I'm saving for is a long time in the future I won't actually have much 'spare' but little bits add up. I already have £26 in £2 coins and I'll add up my shrapnel later and update this when I have a figure- £4.53 I have no target for the wedding fund but I would like £150 in my fridge freezer fund by the end of the challenge.

    Could I have a number please?:j

Hi Sue, when I said my first official post, I meant as in stating my initial deposit, which has now been upped by £15 as my DGS has just paid me for his Mom's Xmas present I'd ordered for him. It hasn't been missed so in the jar it goes.
As for wrapping the jar up, Have you SEEN the awkward shape of those jars! Actually, I've just remembered, I've got a lovely gold wine bottle gift box I was given last year. I always knew it would come in handy for something. BINGO! ( the box is gold, not the wine ) Ha ha!
I've been looking at the terramundi jars. They are beautiful but I'd never be able to buy one unless, as you say, it's in a CS.
Best of luck to one and all.

Re the Terramundi, keep an eye on charity shops as quite a few SPCers have bought them for next to nowt in them. You could always ask for one for a present. I do use mine as ornaments, how could I hide them?!!! For now your £land one will be perfect.:)

I asked for mine as an xmas present, usually I never say anything when I am asked what I want, so had a  face from my other half when he asked! lol... hopefully he gets it! For now I am using a see through jar that is being kept in an old gift box! lol.

I am not counting in general, but I did put in £1,82 in change today! woohoo! :T

  • ModestyB - It could be me hoarding all the 5 Ps as I've been saving them since they came out too :D- mainly as they are so all small and they were getting on my nerves....:rotfl:

I have small china vase that mine go in and it holds about £7 when full.

Which reminds me - my SP is actually 3 containers - the china vase for 5 Ps, an empty vodka optic bottle for coppers and one of those tins you have to open with a tin opener - except that it is now 3 years old and sealed each year with tape - VERY :money::D

Oh, and woe betide the dear OH if he mixes up the coins....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Trying to Save......:o
