Hi there, first time posting on the OS board, hope its ok to join in!
Just a thought - you can crush them up and use them in this Jamie Oliver Meatballs recipe instead of breadcrumbs as shown on the Ministry of Food programme.
Not sure if you could also use them in place of breadcrumbs in other things aswell like home made burgers perhaps?
Anyway, hope that helps!Wealth can be measured in many ways...not all of them by pence and pounds.;) :happylove0 -
Probably not the sort of crackers you have if it's amixed pack, but if anybody has any leftover "Jacobs" crackers, then you can make ice slices with them.
Make thick custard & sandwich between 2 crackers & top with icing. They sound vile, but they're actually very scrummy. If you leave them until the following day they go like soft pastry!!!
Hope that helps someone!0 -
You could maybe make home made burgers using them crushed up
edit: Just realised yellow said the same thingJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
hello,
we quite often have cheese and biccies in the evening but now seem to have numerous packets of krackawheat, cream crackers open:eek:
since oh had a stroke i am not suggesting a 10pm feast of cheese (even though i may fancy it):o
so... what can i do with all of these open packets which are getting less crunchy and very unappetising as we speak...
any ideas would be most welcome or the birds and hedgehog will be having them at the weekend!!!it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -
Why not wizz them up in the food processor and use them like breadcrumbs? You could keep them in the freezer till you need them...LBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0

crushed fine/processed, i use them to coat fishcakes, or over veg gratin/macaroni cheese - anything that I'm finishing off under the grill. Mix with spices to coat chops etc. before cooking might be a way to go as well, though I've never tried it0

Breadcrumbs really good for onion rings/ crispy deep fried mushrooms and chicken nuggets made from real chicken:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
