    Hey All,

hope you're all good today. Well I managed to find 12p in the house whilst tidying up (never heard me get so excited about finding change!!)

Edit - make that 13p, my DS1 just found a 1p and came and gave it to me!!

Also saved 310p by walking to play group instead of getting the bus (yes even in the rain!!). And borrowed a cook book from the library at play group instead of buying one on budget meals, so even more pennies saved!

Am getting quite into this now!!

i think i'm going wrong somewhere.... the only free range money i have found this whole year is 2p!!!

You're not going wrong - it's just that this lot got there before you!

Had a villainous thought - our penny jar is brimful, so we were going to take a handful each time we went out and feed it through the self-service tills as part-payment of shopping, but we keep forgetting. I don't think Dh would notice if I started a new jar with a few coins and put the rest to savings, LOL!

What a good idea - a playgroup library! Mine are past the playgroup stage now but when they were little they used to have super foodie sessions at playgroup, thus starting DD's lifelong love of interesting food. They also had a lot of child-friendly recipes which the group had complied as a cookbook many many years ago. When I found out about it I asked to borrow it and copied lots down - they are pretty frugal and very nice and yes, still in use even though the kids are bigger than me. :)

Sorry... off topic... sort of... but it did start me on making veggie soup which has saved countless pennies and wasted veg since, talking of which I used up some rather ancient parsnips to make curried parsnip soup yesterday which has made two meals so far and there are two portions in the freezer - can one count capturing invisible pennies, I wonder?

Well Miggy, you can if you wish but you can only spend them in invisible shops! :rotfl:

I actually have an imaginary bank account in which there is £1 million pennies...pity my creditors don't have my imagination! :D

I am getting a little worried now...

I woke up this morning having had a dream I walked past a 50p coin in the street. I decided to go back to sleep to try and go back and get it!

    Oh dear!
  • Hi all, captured 457 pennies this week. I'm very addicted to saving pennies ( thats an understatement!) Found a penny on the floor earlier but announced it to the rest of the room, quick as a flash my son grabbed it and the penny went straight in his pot!! Doah!! Am to slow with my lot!! Note to self MUST get my room kill quieter next time;)
