  • Aw, thanks, Tilly, you shouldn't say things like that when I'm so sleep deprived and hormonal! To be honest, Mini-MSE is in a pretty predictable routine where she has a good 2 hours sleep after a feed so we know we can get stuff done without being interrupted! Also, DH is still off work at the moment as he tagged annual leave onto paternity leave so I am making the most of the extra help!

MRN, I got half an hour at 4:30 and then a lovely hour or so at 6! I had already slept from 9:30 until 3 while DH was on duty, so have done pretty well :T

Just listed a couple more things. I spent quite a while researching a designer dress MIL wants me to sell, making sure I am listing it properly and providing some good clear photos. Is it cheeky of me to expect a cut of the profit?

  • Hiya, MIL should definitely give you a cut. People always under estimate the length of time it takes to put stuff on eb@y. Either that or she buys LO something lovely :):)

  • Oh yes you need to take a cut. When I did ebaying/car boot for my parents we agreed 50% but when we did for SIL she said hourly rate for ebay and 10% for car boot (but we made her pay petrol and entrance fee, cheeky mare!).

  • Ebay sales are going ok- of the 45 items listed, 8 have bids on them and 9 have watchers. Actually, that's not that great! A lot finish tomorrow night and some on Monday.

I decided to join the local charity lottery after a very friendly man knocked my door last week. I wouldn't normally do this for cold callers but he was very nice and gave me two teddies for Mini-MSE! So, on top of being entered for a weekly lottery, I am eligible for 10% discount at a lot of shops in our nearby city, including my hairdressers! I went last night and saved £3.20- added to the MOC total.

One of the chickens isn't very well, it has a deformed foot and isn't eating properly. The lady we got them from is happy to swap it and nurse it back to health but it seems such a shame for the poor little mite.

I agree, Tilly, it does take a while to list items and it is quite disheartening when I see I have lots of watchers and some bids on an item and then remember it isn't mine! I am a bit miffed to be honest as she is very good at buying stuff on ebay but then refuses to learn how to sell stuff and asks me to do it. Grr. I didn't get my usual 4am nap today so feeling a bit cranky!

  • Thanks, MRN, cross posted with you! I feel a bit cheeky as to be honest the outlaws do a lot for us, like help DH with DIY etc.

  • Quite a busy MSE weekend!

I was very impressed with John Lewis as we needed another Dr Brown bottle for Mini-MSE. I was going to order online but they deliver to a local Waitrose for free! Will go and collect it today after 2pm. So that saved us a delivery charge or petrol money to go to the nearest John Lewis.

Ten items sold on ebay last night, fetching a total of £63.14 (of which £15.45 was MIL's items). I have another 11 finishing tonight, £27.32 so far (£12.20 is MIL's), with watchers on some items with no bids, so fingers crossed! I will get the first shipment sent off today to stagger it out a bit. So between the two days, that's about £62 towards the overpayment account!

My Mum invited us all round for tea last night, which I was very grateful for as it meant we didn't have to cook!

I have just applied for the nectar american express card. You get 10000 points if you spend £1000 in the first three months. As we put all of our daily spending on a card, we should achieve this. I think 10000 points is £50! They will let me know in the next few days if my application has been successful. The nectar tool bar is pretty good as it reminds you to click through the eshops if you are visiting a site where you can collect points eg ebay or amazon. You also get 200 points for installing it and 1 point for every search you do.

The quidco payment should have cleared and I was going to transfer it but Mini-MSE is asleep on me and I can't get up to look for the pesky secure key.

She is 4 weeks old today, how fast has that gone!!!

  • Just transferred MIL's profit into her account so I know I can safely transfer the paypal funds out knowing they are mine, all mine! The winning bidder on an item that fetched £26 hasn't paid yet. I just re-sent the invoice asking them to pay by midnight tonight or else....I'll re-list it.

Sold an amazon book last night as well, £5ish on it's way!

The quidco payment of £14.92 has cleared, so I have transferred that. I have achieved January's MSE overpayment target, and made a start on Feb's. The ebay profits will help a big chunk of feb! We still have a lot of figures to list, but DH is taking the lead on that as they are all quite specialist and he wants to get the listing spot on.

Must visit the petrol station to use my vouchers before the end of the month. It's quite hard to save money when you're not spending much! It means I will have to rely on sources of income more. I'll go off and look into the survey sites now but I'm not sure I can put the hours in to get a decent return.

  • Been and registered with Dooyoo, I have done three reviews for 800 points. I know there is a SAHM who does a lot of these reviews so I shall go and look at her diary to see what the vouchers are worth when you finally cashout at 20000 points. It's a bit soul destroying spending hours doing surveys or reviews for the same amount of cash I could earn doing a hours overtime. I think my time would be better spent cuddling Mini-MSE!

  • I withdrew our paypal earnings, even though there is still 1 person who hasn't paid, which would of course be the most expensive item! So we are about £26 short.

The earnings were £129.04, postage and packing came to £37.42, MIL money was £37.04. So total profit is £58.54. I have transferred it into the overpayments fund.

At Sainsburys, we were ordering some photos and had to pay upfront. Imagine our surprise when the machine churned out a £3 off £20 voucher- the best one to have! We had planned to get a few things while the photos were printing, so off we went and got £3 off a shop we were planning to do anyway! I have added it to the MOC total and transferred the £7.20 while I was logged into banking.

To end on a slightly negative note, my dooyoo reviews were not particularly well received by the acid-tongued users of the website and only rated me somewhat useful and not useful. I have now got 900 points. It might be something I do in the wee hours inbetween feeding and napping, but I don't think I will spend too much time on it.

To end on a more positive note:

    91% there! And it's only mid-September!

  • Final ebay payment has gone in- woo hoo! I have taken it out and added it to the total- sig updated.

I have raised a claim for my cashback from supercasino that hasn't tracked. The William Hill £50 is due to be paid on the next payment run.

DH is sorting out all of his figures, ready to list. He has spent nearly £1k over the last year or so collecting them, so I really hope we can at least get our money back!
