  • Went shopping today to cash in my free Huggies starter pack voucher in Asda. This is well worth it as you get a free pack of nappies, wipes and some cotton towel things, plus £6 worth of COUPONS!!
While we were out I fetched my changing bag from Boots, which is free if you buy a pack of nappies. I took along a £2 voucher for the nappies, so for £1 something we got a bag and some nappies. I have listed the bag on ebay as I already have a changing bag. They seem to attract various bids, from nothing up to £5ish.

  • Had a successful evening last night- sold one item for £16.55, another for £5 and also sold a book on Amazon for £8ish!

So I'll trot along to the post office today and get them all shipped off.

I'll update my signature when the money appears.

  • Sold another book today, so have requested payment from Amazon for that as well. It might appear by the end of the week!

  • Three of my ebay items sold last night, comes to a grand total of about £7, but every little helps!
I had a look at our Texaco star awards points balance and was pleasantly surprised to find we are 25 points off being able to claim £40 worth of vouchers. Love to shop is one of the options, so I think we'll go for that and perhaps put it towards a monitor. So we just need to top up with 25 litres of fuel to get there. Might put 26 in just to be sure! We are going to be way down on our fuel budget this month as neither of us are having to drive to work and not venturing too far with mini-MSE.
The honeymoon period is over, I think- sleep deprivation has kicked in!

The chickens have laid one egg, but broke it and pecked at it themselves. DH looked on the internet and they sometimes do this if there was something wrong with it.

  • Just requested a paypal withdrawal which should appear by the 7th apparently. The end of the week should see some big payments into the overpayments account by the time paypal and amazon payments appear.

I met the winning bidder for two of my items who handed over the £4.71 in cash, so I can update and transfer that straight away!

  • The first Amazon payment has arrived- £5.42 :) Sig updated.

Morrisons have got an interesting offer on. If you buy a £10 giftcard, they will give you a voucher for 1p off a litre of fuel. So with a £100 giftcard, you will get 10p off a litre. As fas as I can tell, this applies to the charge cards that you can get and spend anywhere. I'll have to double check as that would be an easy way to get cheaper fuel.

BUT.. Mozzas fuel is pretty expensive. If we drive another 3-5 miles we can get it a fair bit cheaper. I'd have to do my homework regarding fuel prices to see if it's worth doing. For the time being, I have got to go to Texaco for my 26 litres, I also have 6 Tesco vouchers to use before the end of Sept as well. This is all fine except we are hardly driving anywhere so might struggle to get any decent savings from them! I might hand them out to family if it looks like we aren't going to use them in time.

  • Glad you're having some luck with Amazon selling - have you had to use the customer services yet? I set up an account, but now cannot log in. Their help service is woeful, we keep going round in circles - they tell me to do stuff, which I can't without logging in...AGH! I'll stick to eBay I think.
  • I would have given up long ago and set up a new account! They haven't been too bad, and I was very grateful the other day when I had to cancel a sale as I couldn't find the book. It was very straightforward and avoided confrontation with the buyer, unlike ebay!

I have just cashed in my Texaco points after successfully managing to put 26 litres in yesterday which took the balance up to 4000 points exactly! It really aggrieved me to fill up there as it is 145 for diesel at the moment. I have requested Love 2 shop vouchers as we can spend them at Argos, Mothercare etc.

The paypal payment has cleared- £36.55 transferred into the overpayments account- sig updated.

Mini-MSE was a very good girl yesterday, she fed every 3 hours on the dot and slept really well in between. The health visitor is coming today, which I'm sure will successfully manage to knock my confidence and convince me I am doing a terrible job! (Nothing like going into something with a positive attitude, is there?)

The thank you cards arrived yesterday and look really cool. Unfortunately I only ordered 20 but after counting up all of the gifts, we need 27, so have had to re-order (through quidco- another £5 cashback!), but wasted money paying for two sets of postage. I already have loads of stamps that I bought ages ago so that's good. Just got to write the bloomin things!

One more Amazon payment to arrive and then the income will have dried up for a bit. Need to get some more stuff listed on ebay.

Extreme couponing was brilliant the other day- the girl who did it had about $1300 worth of groceries and the store OWED her $50 by the end of it! There was one woman who only paid $35 for about $3000 worth of groceries, but was donating it all to the local food bank. That seems sensible to me, as nobody needs 150 packets of noodles or 30 dozen eggs, just because they are free, but the food bank definitely appreciate them. She also got about 50 packets of cat food and donated that to a shelter too. The only problem is that it isn't on TV often enough! The threads on here are pretty good, and Martin has written a good guide to supermarkets. For instance, I didn't know about putting your receipts from Asda and Tesco into the price match and printing off a coupon for the difference if you could have shopped cheaper elsewhere. Getting a 'rain check' is also good as there is Dettol spray on offer in Sainsburys, and I have a coupon for that which would mean it ends up being 50p. Unfortunately the shelf was empty the other day, but now I can get a rain check! I'm a bit scared to ask an assistant though, knowing my luck I'll get the work experience kid and they'll have to call for someone over the tannoy and everyone will know what a tight-a**e I am!

Anyways, I'm rambling a bit, it must be because I got about 7 hours sleep last night and feeling positively perky. And it's a lovely autumnul morning, with sunny weather promised for later.

You know you don't have to see them right? Health visiting is optional, and you can choose for them not to visit you if you want - just say no thankyou when they want to make an appointment. ;)

The other Amazon payment has cleared so I've just transferred £12.41 into the overpayments account- sig updated.

I must have forgotten to update my total here as my actual account has about £8 more than my sig had, so I've updated it to bring them both in line.

My DH found the website 'BeforeIshop' yesterday. You could input the vouchers available onto Mysupermarket as items that you want notification if they are reduced by any of the supermarkets. Then you could get extra value out of the coupon!

Not much happened yesterday, I spent the afternoon in bed as DH had taken Mini-MSE to work to show her off. Didn't feel much better after a nap, but went to bed at 9 and feel better this morning.

Everything was fine with the health visitor, Mini-MSE has put more weight on, which is great! It's like the opposite of weight watchers and in ounces rather than pounds!
