Just visited my wages account on the off chance and found £94.47 in there after my mobile bill had come out. There seems to be an odd amount floating in there most months depending on if I got a bonus at work or I didn't transfer the whole of my expenses money out. I would have let this amount stay in there and get swept up in next month's wages, but not any more! I have 'tidied' it up into the overpayments account.
So... that means I have achieved my MSE overpayments for 2012 and have made a good dent in January's. As I mentioned before, I will carry on getting ahead of myself as it seems to motivate me to keep having small targets rather than big ones.
I am 88% there with my overall 2012 overpayment target, which will take care of itself with the standing order overpayments each month. I will have a 100+% to report for MFW2012 challenge by the end of the year- teacher's pet!
Our original aim was to be mortgage free by 50, which is the same as reducing our term by 10 years. It would be amazing to do this even earlier, and really take the pressure off us having to work full time. It would be lovely to have jobs that we enjoy but don't pay well, rather than the other way round which is the situation that we are in at the moment.Slow progress is better than no progress.

Ha ha, thanks MRN! I like to set myself achievable targets so I can pat myself on the back when I get there! Just by measuring myself then I am motivated to continue. Unfortunately my bosses have the opposite approach and like to set unachievable targets as they think this motivates people. (??) I have never understood the carrot/string method of dangling a bonus all year only to set unachievable targets so that no one ever actually achieves their bonus. This is a big demotivator in my mind.
Anyways, rant over! I don't have to think about work for nearly a year- hooray!
I popped along to Tesco to get some more Huggies, (although we prefer Pampers but they are not as forthcoming with the MOCs). They hadn't got any newborn size in stock but luckily I noticed that the size 2 Pampers that we had been stockpiling when they were on offer will fit 6-13lb so we have started using them instead. So a no spend there! They are a bit baggy but as long as there are no leaks then that's fine with me!
I did, however, manage to use my Dettol coupon finally. I have added it to the MOC total. Bought two pizzas for the freezer as mentioned previously.Slow progress is better than no progress.

I have had an email from Quidco today informing me a payment of £14ish is on it's way to me, probably not before Monday though.
I have just spent a couple of hours listing loads of things on ebay, all due to finish Sunday evening, so fingers crossed! It is v boring listing them all but I do get excited when they all finish and there is a last minute bidding war!
We have finally sorted out the stuff from the loft at the old house and done a trip to the tip with the rubbish. Anything sentimental we have put up in the loft here and are selling a little pile of stuff too.Slow progress is better than no progress.

We tried Huggies with both our kids and I'm afraid they leaked too much, so use pampers always looking for offers, as they get a bit bigger - the own brand ones do a good job.Start Date 16/09/2015

Thanks, QB, we have had two leaks today with huggies, so their days are numbered! (One of them was operator error as we had tucked the nappy under her leg).Slow progress is better than no progress.

Hi. I've just been catching up with your diary, you seem to be doing a great job. And a new mummy too! I have to say we use huggies and i love them, the newborn ones not so much but the natural fit and the pull ups are great. Also we use the Dr Brown bottles and i will never look back. I am off to subscribe and also to think of the small things i can do to become MF:)0

Thanks for popping by, ecoelle!
I listed about 34 items on ebay yesterday and had a slight panic when I thought about the trip to the post office if they all sell! So far 3 items are selling and 3 items have watchers. All due to finish Sunday evening, so fingers crossed! My MIL has asked me to sell some of her stuff so I can't count that towards our total- boo!
Mini-MSE is asleep so I'm debating if I've got time for a nap before she wakes for her next feed at about 5. I'll risk it!Slow progress is better than no progress.

Morning MFB50, you are really inspiring. How you manage to spend time on eba@y etc whilst looking after a LO is amazing. Hope the PO trip is ok.

Hi,
Hope you got some sleep squeezed in! I'm sure the post office lady used to roll her eyes when I walked in with bags-for-life stuffed with parcels! I'm sure the buyers will spread their payments out so you can do trips to the post office on different days.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0
