Sorry for starting the day with a rant!

That's ok, we all know how annoying banks can be!

Ahh that is rubbish, I wouldn't let it go. An O2 advisor once misinformed me about iPhone tarrifs, when I bought the phone and tried to alter the tarrif as I was informed I could, the new advisor said I couldn't do this...which meant my tarrif was going to be about £700 more expensive over the course of the contract. I ranted and raved at managers, was on the phone for 3 hours but got there in the end...got a brand new free iPhone and a £20 a month contract. If I had let it go when they said 'no' I'd still be paying that extra money! Thankfully it was an online chat and I'd saved the conversation of the first advisor - don't let it go!!

Great news about Quidco! Think this year will be not tooo bad financially but I am uncertain about how much I'll be earning next year so thats what we need to plan for. Practice frugal living this year I think! Congrats on your first, it is so exciting! Hope the birth wasn't as bad as I'm expecting lol!
  • The birth was fine, I did hypnobirthing, have you looked into it? No pain relief (not even a paracetamol!), just stayed calm and breathed as much as I could. It isn't as painful as scaremongers like to make out, your body was made to do it!

Ahh these are the kind of birth stories I like to hear! :D I've got a hypnobirthing CD which I've just started using (keeping falling asleep!) - did you do a class or get a CD? Sorry to hijack your mortgage thread with birthing! :D
  • I read some of Marie Mongan's book (didn't bother with the bit about cloak of protection etc!), went to a 1 day workshop (Mia Scotland) in Leicester and did pregnancy yoga. Don't worry about falling asleep, it means you can relax to the music! I kept my ipod in throughout the pushing stage and it really helped to focus and stay calm.

That is good to know! I'd love to be able to do it with just the hypnobirthing, breathing and relaxation - mainly because I'm a wimp and don't want to be sick off all the drugs haha!
  • If you go on babycentre there is a hypnobirthing group with loads of positive birth stories. I'm the same, I hate feeling out of control so didn't want drugs if I could help it!

Thanks for the tip will have a look!
  • I had an extreme couponing moment today in Sainsburys! The Huggies wipes were on bogof so £2 for two packs. I had a coupon for £1 off so I got two packs for £1- a saving of £1.50 per pack off the normal price.

I also used my petrol coupon and made the massive saving of £2.25.

    Both added to MOC total!
