There is a good deal on with milk and more at the moment- You can get £10 off your first order. I just ordered some groceries for tomorrow for £10.39- so the total was 39p! So I'll add £10 to the MOC total. Not bad eh!

Sorry it's short but I'm on my phone instead of the laptop!

Your diary is inspirational and has given me a lot to think about on MF journey. I have been worrying about our grocery and eating out etc budget but yours seems like a very sensible way of doing it so I may budget for that instead, we enjoy our food and eating out so I will try it. A question though, do you move money at the end of the week if you have any left or do you roll it over? DH hates budgetting but I think I could sell this idea to him :D now all I need to do is work out a holiday budget :(

I guess you and DH have a healthy combined income, no answers required. We do but don't combine it all, we have a high monthly mortgage DD but other than that our costs are minimal so we really should be able to do better.

  • Thanks for reading, ajmoney! I don't move the budget money over, mainly because we are never under budget! I find it's a bit like having the weight watchers tracker, if you pay attention to what you're spending/eating then you are more accountable for it and automatically think before you spend/eat.
We are lucky and have a good income between us but I am the higher earner and as you may have read, I am hoping to be off work until next summer, so our comfortable lifestyle will have to be reigned in.
I find martin's budget sheet is excellent by the way.

My OH is happy for me to be in charge of all things money wise, and he is happy for me to overpay as long as it doesn't affect our current lifestyle too much.

That sounds like DH! We are quite independant financially and he is the high earner in our marriage. It takes a lot for him to come round but he likes the idea that when I finish my contract neither of us will have to work endless hours if we put a bit of money in now...but he doesn't want a change in our lifestyle. He can afford to put money across anytime but I want it all to be even with OPs so I need to make sure I make some extra cash with selling. I have a good wage too but I want to be able to pay everything he does which makes it tough on me sometimes.

Is Amazon good for book selling? I have a lot to sell.

  • Not too bad, I just keep checking every now and then to make sure mine is the cheapest so it appears top of the list. It might be worth checking the postage if it is a heavy book as they pay standard postage and you may end up out of pocket. I've not tried green metropolis but some others on here have.

  • Somebody help me! I've got a new addiction-buying coupons from eBay!
I've spent £37.50 last night and this morning on vouchers that are going to save me £200 off various items. So a potential profit of £160??

Has anyone any experiences (good or bad) of using coupons off eBay?

If they work then it is certainly a good investment.

Lots of eBay items ending today so I'll update any profits.

Ps what confuses me is that there is a love to shop voucher for £5 on there that the current bid is for £7.50. Am I missing something?

No i think you're right, £8.05 for a £5 voucher hmm? i never knew you could buy vouchers and coupons off ebay, i'd also be interested to know if anyone else has done this and if there are any things to be aware of before buying. If not then this sounds like a fantastic way to do the shopping for cheaper:)

I've never bought coupons but would be interested to see how it goes for you as it could help for Xmas!

Did your Milk and More order arrive? I placed a similar order with a voucher once and 85% of it was out of stock no substitutions...I was not happy!
