Firstly, the set is *not* HD ready. It is standard plasma (NTSC) res, 852x480

Secondly, this is not necessarily a bad thing. The majority of people will not watch a HD broadcast in the lifespan of their current TV. HD-DVD/Blu Ray won't be mainstream for a couple of years at best, gaming (360/ps3) is certainly not advised on any plasma anyway. Terrestrial HD won't be here for a while, and I doubt most 'moneysavers' will be bothered about spending the extra £300+£10 per month to have a few sky channels in HD instead of SD.

    So, that aside,

The TV is a good offer. Connectivity is decent, and the quality of the display on this is good for the price (I won't say its amazing, because it certainly isn't the best compared to the much more expensive sets, but it certainly is good for the price).

If you're after a low budget plasma to impress your clueless neighbours, give this a shot, you can't go far wrong for the price.

Anyone else want to say it isn't an HD set? ;)

The other thing I would be looking for if it was going to be used purely for watching SD TV would be a digital tuner.
  • Thought I'd just jump in before everyone gets excited about this TV - It's NOT HD ready.............................;)
