PS I have a Peking Duck in my kitchen that is a delicate shade of "Dale Winton" - so I am guessing it is marinaded enough.:o

Peking Duck - hereby referred to as "Darling Dale" has been in the oven an hour ................... he is now the colour of a lovely toffee apple.

Cat is parked in front of the oven with nose pressed up against the glass.

Smelling lovely here.

Welcome aboard Hidden Identity... it gets mad around here, it really does!!

Still not done any baking for Christmas, and I suddenly realised that tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Holy carp I am going to have to get a move on tomorrow. And still have enough energy to get to and sing at Midnight Mass...! I see an afternoon nap in my future. And I might just go to bed now actually.

Dale is out - and he looks too lovely to pull to shreds. He is a very fetching shade of mahogany and smells so gorgeous.

Crickett - do yourself a favour hon and write a list and send himself out tomorrow. Supermarket goodies will do and a nap will do you more good than any amount of baking will.

Off to cuddle my big boy - do you thin he will still want to snuggle up and read "The Night Before Christmas" next year when he is at High School??

If anyone's seen my post on the other side, I'm going to need some serious advice on how to make money / save money etc. I'm still going to be limited on time, not as much as previously and I need to feel I'm better off personally than working 55 hour weeks even if we're skint!

Hello Hiddenidentity - welcome to the thread, I'm new too but have found everyone on here very friendly.

Spent the day in the car taking mum to meet my brother - she is spending Christmas with him and his family.

I managed to make some Tablet this evening. Oh my - it is seriously yummy!!

Tomorrow will be a baking/cleaning day. DD working and DS is out with a friend so should be able to get loads done (hopefully)

Today is the day we celebrate with our families - meaning tomorrow is just for the kids, but shall pop in when I can.

In the meantime - I woke up this morning feeling very thankful for the food in my fridge, the gifts on the tree and my best present ever .........

.............. a group of like-minded, sometimes stroppy, always loving, sometimes frustrating and always supportive ladies just like me:T:T

My kids are looking at a lovely Christmas this year thanks to the gift of financial knowledge / habits we have discovered together.

Don't work too hard ladies - remember this is OUR holiday too.
