    Morning Matrix.

The Rickett Menagerie (3 cats and a dog) all decided it was time to get up at 6am and they were brooking no argument. It is just as well they are cute and fluffy, because I was all set for a LOOONG lie in! Never mind. I am up now.

We have a meeting in Nottingham with the Cathedral Dean this morning, to discuss music and readings for my Dad's funeral. It was the only time he could fit us in... but we are going to make it an occasion by having a nice coffee and a sandwich at a hostelry nearby to the Cathedral. We are also due to go to the Party in the Park run by the local branch of the Royal British Legion this afternoon. I hope it stays dry for them... and us! :)

Other than that, plans are distinctly thin on the ground. Perfect!

Have a lovely bank holiday one and all!

If you are looking for the "from scratch" recipe Maom - the search for "Saturday Night Pizza! in the Frugal Food section you know where LOL

Pretty day here (for now) and I love being able to peg out the washing as my coffee is brewing (little things LOL) ............ even better the boys should have a fabulous day out seal watching.

Time to get a wiggle on - today I get to lots of "catching up stuff", but thankfully the "packed lunch" baking was done yesterday.

My dad has left now, so I'm on my own for the week. I'm trying to decide whether to get the kayak out and head off up the river (tide is going out still... May be hard work, plus a bit windy), go for a walk over the cliffs or nip up to the shop for chocolate and lie around on the sofa for the rest of the day!

I STILL have some crab left... It needs to be eaten today or frozen. I'm thinking of making crab cakes but have no potatoes and no source of them (unless I go for a walk) so wondered whether to experiment with the leftover couscous...

I hope to survive the week without shopping. Lettuces are available over the road, I have broad beans, broccoli, spring greens, carrots and frozen peas. Eight eggs (may get more if there are any available over the road but it's a bit hit and miss), plenty of cheese/cottage cheese, an avocado, half a dozen cherry toms, a couple of spring onions, a couple of stale bread crusts, fresh garlic, chillis, enough pork casserole for a couple of meals as well as soup and stuff in the freezer.

Crab souffle greenbee? - not as difficult as they sound and a lovely treat.

9am and second load of washing on - how on earth did I turn in to a morning person?????

Sounds like a great idea MG :)

I might even be forced to invite people over to share... Although that gets difficult as i think i'd have to invite about 10 people or none!

DW here is driving me nuts... I have scrubbed and bleached the filters, run the machine empty with bleach on a hot wash (no soda crystals or vinegar), wiped the seals thoroughly, scrounged rinse aid, cleaned the filters between washes and there is STILL gunk on mugs/glasses (some of it looking like tablet residue... Maybe with the soft water it doesn't need a whole tablet?). I've taken the arms off and they aren't blocked. It always seems to leave gunk by the door seal at the end of each cycle but i'm cleaning that up too. Maybe now it's just me, if I can find some gloves, I should wash up by hand!

Hello MG and all of MG's friends (big wave!)

I have eventually found you all here. I have to tell you that I'm being naughty at this moment in time as I am supposed to be cleaning out my understairs cupboard right now. It's Memory Girl's fault as I was directed to your store cupboard on OS a couple of days ago, you might remember.

It's going great but sitting down for a break and a camomile tea. :)

Looking forward to reading this thread and catching up about what you're all about and I still have your blog to enjoy too MG.

Looking forward to joining in with you all when I get up to speed with what you're all about. :)
