The divorce has been done without solicitors - he wouldnt consult one because he is too tight! On the other hand I have spoken to a solicitor friend who has given me some advice although should I want further advice then I will have to pay for it. She wanted £3K to sort out my divorce:eek: I havent spoken to soon to be ex OH for a while - he refuses to answer the phone and my weekends have been consumed with looking after my dad and trying to give mum a break. He hasnt picked up the phone to enquire about my parents at all and he knows that my dad is quite poorly as is my mum:mad: So we havent been able to discuss anything.

Is it wrong to have spent the would be £1 donation to Help for Heroes on a bag of pineapple rock for me? I was going to make a donation this morning at the parade but the cadets doing the collection were too busy yakking to each other and kept walking past people who were trying to donate, in the end I gave up and treated myself to some pineapple rock (not had any for years).:D

Mmmmm - struggling with my menu planning - I am hoping I can start the "spring rotation" of meals, but I think the "winter" one may have to stay another week or so. Spring weather must be coming soon - please.

Oooooo seasonal rotation - that sounds interesting! How does that work?

I look at meal planning as an annual thing - so look to be able to east cheaply and seasonally through the year.

Winter means more soups and potatoes and starchy carb dishes -summer more veg from the garden, lighter grilled meats etc.

So although every Monday may be a "rice dish" - it can rotate from winter risotto, spring biryani, summer rice salads and autumn rissoles.

Eating in season means eating cheap - also means that I can stock up when stuff comes on offer throughout the year as I know how much, say, risotto rice I need.

3 people = 250g X 14 weeks = 3.5kg risotto rice per year. (Got at bargain price of 40 p per 500g bag from Approved Food end of last year)

This is the last week of the "winter" rotation - I just don't know if we are ready to move onto the spring menu yet.

It is still so chilly up here

We're the same MG, not quite ready for a full Spring menu yet - roast has been changed to chicken and potatoes but not ready to give up soups quite yet.

Crickett, it sounds like everything is working out nicely. Have you done much with veg before?

Yes, Hex I have had an allotment before. In fact, I have an allotment which my Father in Law keeps up because I didn't previously have the time! :) He gets growing space, and I get extra veg! :) It works a treat actually! And we pay the ground rent for his Birthday present every year.

I am not going to overdo the veg that we grow. I usually end up trying to grow too much. This time i am going to try and be sensible and only grow the stuff I actually like to eat. No point growing broad beans when both of us in the house hate them! :rotfl:

It is all very exciting. I might go into the garden this afternoon actually. Depends if it is raining or not! :D Definitely a fair weather gardener! :D

right, breakfast, then Church, then dinner, then clearing away, then gardening or knitting, and plying poor hubby (who has been working for 2 hours already!) with tea and coffee and other lovely bits. Poor Lamb!

Aaaw feel for your hubby Crickett - mine has done 5 lates this week and has clocked up a 62 hour week and is now sleeping it all off!

Kids and I have been up since 6am - dd is off to Liverpool with a friend to watch the puppets - and is very excited. Ds is already plugged into the ds and I am waiting to spot a friend and marmite man in the London Marathon.

Aw!!! jealous of your guys who are close enough to see the Liverpool puppets - the boys would love that.

Just settling down with the boys, A malt loaf and a pot of tea for a lazy breakfast - back later if I ever make a plan of what to actually do today.

Dropped DD2 off for swim lesson at 8 then off to the gym pool for 40 lengths doing battle with the bow waves from the hairy torpedoe and the bad tempered octogenarian  Trying to clear the head of a fug and get some energy from somewhere - I find swimming goes some where to achieve this! Also I can do a lot of thinking at the same time and especially in the steam room after:) Anyway back now so a quick catch up and tidy up and then a trip to Mr T:(:( cos yesterday I was involved in a charity fundraiser all day so didn't get time and I need to get some basics in just to see us through next week.

Foot note to bad tempered octogenarian : as I was leaving she was singing along with Aha 'Take Me On' which was playing in the background in the changing room like it was a song from her youth............... makes me think she is not as old as she looks just not aged very well or had one too many goes on the sun bed:eek:;)
