Sorry to hear about this TMIF but you already got some really dound advice; all I ca offer are ((()))s.
You are not going to believe this one! We just found something be grateful to Mr. Osborne for; we published a post on the budget last night and one of the things we checked is the rate of child benefit. Then it hit me: we are getting less and I surely know this one: true to my philosophy I check my numbers, you see.
Today we phoned the Agency and true enough - we have been underpaid for 9 year by a little bit but it adds up to quite a lot. I am not sure whether to feel ashamed or pleased? Hard call this one!

Oh if it's something you're currently entitled to - why feel ashamed. Take the money and pay it straight off your "negative wealth".
At the moment, the law says you can, so you should! If the law is wrong, then that's a conversation for another time!
Thanks for the hugs - all collected and stored up for a time when they will be needed! At the moment, I am just sulking, and pretending to be pragmatic about it!0 -
TMIF - I want that on a t-shirt
"I'm NOT sulking - I'm being pragmatic"
LOL

Don't feel ashamed FW you are entitled to it - will they actually pay back what is owed?
Back from the thinking walk - the first time I have been out without a coat this year:j Nosed in people's gardens as I wandered past then headed into Aldi (they now have baskets so I dont need to find a box and juggle everything), I treated myself to a much needed loo brush, a bunch of daffs for 89p (actually two bunches in the wrapper so bargain:j), some meat which got me confused - their lean mince said 20% less fat than normal mince and priced at £1.19, the selected best lean mince at over £2 said that it was 10% less fat - needless to say I had the cheaper one. Bought mum a box of cornflour (she grumbled about it the other day) and a packet of egg poachettes.0 -
I can't believe it has taken me 2 1/2 hours to spring clean my bathroom and it's tiny:eek:Definately feel better for it though. Off to do a small bit on veggie patch 2(at BIL's) shortly. I thought your boys might like this MG.
Banana Spread
3 medium ripe bananas (500g)
80ml lemon juice
125g butter, chopped
4 egg yolks
Blend or process the banana until smooth
Combine bananas, juice, butter and egg yolks in top half of a double saucepan or in a heatproof bowl. Stir over simmering water until mixture thickly coats the back of a wooden spoon.
Spoon hot spread into hot sterilised jars, seal while hot.
Makes about 500ml.
Enjoy - it is yummy in cakes and on toast.0 -
That sounds yum - I can see that on toasted crumpets.
So I sat down to lunch feeling smug - after all I had a busy morning baking when it struck me ................... I have had a busy morning doing the wrong b****y things.
Face it I am a Gold Medal procrastinator - just had a rant over on the blog so I would avert your eyes if you are of a nervous disposition LOL.
Now - off to have a "properly productive" afternoon doing the stuff that needs to be done.
