A happy day to all of us who have ever held a baby in our arms - or in our heart because they are not here with us yet. Today is the day for the Universal Mother, the spirit of love, or creation of hearth and of home.

Cos face it, its not about cards and chocolates and flowers is it?

Me - a cuddle from my boys, a glittery card from playgroup, seeds from DS1 and a bucket of fence preservative from my Dad LOL.

    Happy busy day ladies

They have reduced their World Food aisle to a quarter of what is was and filled up most of that aisle with p0t n00dle carp - !!!!!!. So some of my hard to find anywhere else ingredients have now gone. The salt laden fat filled snack aisle has been extended as has the booze. I give up .

They are asking for feedback on the changes - and boy will they get them with both barrels

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but giving them feedback won't change a thing (but I think you knew that anyway)

And the reason World Food has shrunk and Pot Noodles has increased is because Pot Noodle pay loads of money to have more space on the shelves, same as Coca Cola and Walkers in Tesco.

Pepsi favour Asda so have more space there then Coca Cola.

So it's not about encouraging healthy eating it's about who pays the most

For those of us not fortunate enough to have our beloved children physically near at hand to cuddle and hold close, the symbols of love that come in the post are in fact very meaningful and much appreciated!

    Enjoy your day everyone.

Personally want the hugs and the chocs as well :p

Dd came down with this this morning

    "Mums make us smile
and make doing the washing up worth while.
    Mums make us sing
with each day of happiness they bring.
    Mums hold us tight
and help us through the stormy night.
    Mums love us so much
They always have a gentle touch.
Without our mums, it's clear to see
Our lovely lives would be misery.
    So God
Help the children who do not have mums and may you always be there to protect them."

Hugs for anyone whose mum is watching them from the sky today.

    Happy mothers day

Overslept... Lots to do. Dyson emptied for next round, washing sorted and machine going. Need to wash down bed and as much of the bedroom as I can managed, and hoover the side of the mattress I can reach, then have a shower, all before 10 when my friend gets here to go to the farmers market. Onions and garlic sweating to make soup from the tomatoes and peppers roasted yesterday.

Need to defrost a freezer and do an inventory today, then make a whole lot of soup with the slightly over veg I have/bought yesterday. Broccoli and blue cheese, leek and potato, something with fennel. Something with green peppers. Made a lovely green lentil soup yesterday so ate half and froze half :)

Breakfast is eaten, so I'd better get on!

I think the best about Mothers day is to see DD so excited. And she had copied a poem at school to my card and I must say that it was the best piece of her writing I have ever seen.

Ok so I had my acupuncture yesterday. She is amazing. Councelling and acupuncture all in one go. She recommended me to create a life circle and put there all the things that I want. So I am going to think about this and start a list and then browse the net at lunch breaks for pictures I can print out and glue on my life wheel. (Also I need to practise gratitude - why do I feel so much resistance.)

I have also now started to look for new job in UK. Need to work in both fronts as they say. I have an idea of the direction that I would like to take and might write about it on the other side when I manage to get in (I have lost all my cookies both at work and at home but do know where the necessary emails are, just a matter of getting my act together).

Anyhoo, happy mothers day for all the mums even if it is to be a mum to one of the furry friends. :)

I don't have my Mum still with me and it hurts every day, but on a day like today it hurts even more - a visit to the cemetary just doesn't cut it.

But in better news today is my Dad's 91st birthday - so all the family will be getting together this afternoon which will be lovely though always aware one person is missing.

I have just had delivered the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers with a balloon, they are simply stunning colours and have bought a smile to my face. I have opened my card which made me cry because the words are so meaningful, and have a load of presents to open (my daughter always spoils me!) but she is still in bed so I am being good and ignoring them until she gets up. She is also taking me out for dinner - I am so lucky and love her very much.
