Could I ask for some positive thoughts and vibes for my OH tomorrow? He has a job interview starting at 1.30pm. He's very nervous as didn't get anywhere with last 3 interviews he had [though interestingly one asked him to supervise the person who did get the job and another hired him to do some freelance training]. Also instead of asking him to do a presentation and bring it with him, they will give him a topic when he arrives and he has half an hour to write a presentation to give in the main interview. He is  about this as my OH doesn't do spontaneous hence the plea for some positivity in his direction. He knows his stuff just takes him a while to get it from brain to mouth! Thanks Teapot x

teapot, sending OH positive vibes for tomorrow. Will try to remember 1.30 and send some more :)

i.e. didn't pay anything into nor take anything out, accrued charges which I disputed and they sent a letter to say they had passed it onto a debt collection agency who wrote to me and I paid up as I was fed up with it all - now they placed a default on my credit rating - hell I'm steaming

    Sorry not enough full stops:D

go to the Financial Obudsman Services, tell them what happened and what has happened, how it has affected you and how stressed you are. Hopefully they will get the wrongful default removed, and get you compensation and your money back for the charges.

I have tinkered with my CV - uploaded a new copy to Reed and have spent the morning looking at jobs on there and applying for two of them. I am looking at jobs that I can get to easily - if it means several changes of bus, using the train (I hate trains) or driving long distances then they are ruled out. I have to be conscious of the fact that even though I might be able to drive somewhere - that I cannot drive in the dark and that if it is say a 30 min drive from home that in severe winter weather that that journey can take several hours. Need to sort the uni application out now.

I am being more focussed on salary too - looking at jobs paying a min of £18K (although the uni one's starting salary is £17827). I think that despite what the jobcentre have said, I need to start being picky and applying for jobs that suit my skill set and salary expectations as their no point with someone of my skills and qualifications going for a lesser job (I keep getting knockbacks as I am too experienced and often over qualified).

Horace, this sounds like a most sensible plan. May it reap rewards for you very quickly.

Positive thoughts to Hubby Teapot and Marru, and anyone else I've not mentioned by name who needs them.

Untalkative healing thoughts to greenbee in her renovated hive. ;)

Have you got a slow cooker/crockpot? A electric stack steamer? A George F grill? Portable barbaque? Toaster? Microwave? Cause if you got slow cooker it's stew and soup all week. The steamer it's fish, chicken or suet pudding's.The grill/barbaque a lot of meat or char grilled veg. or if it's just the toaster and the microwave, then it's every thing on toast. Just what I can think of but I have been up since 3 this morning with a poorlie cat, so I hope it's some help for you.

    Thinking of Teapot's OH.

Been up since 5.30 again - but...have stopped setting my alarm. No point: if I wake up before it goes off I have the feeling that I have not slept enough; and if I wake up later than it is set up for without it - bonus rest.

I am becoming a Forest Gump - I just feel like things. Now I just feel like getting up; later I'll feel 'like runnin''

Ooooo ladies you have me curious - must go and investigate what my Hebrew word is LOL

    Good luck Mr teapot

jc2703 - could you look for a local furniture charity / freecycle to replace the oven? I'm in the same position with the car - can't afford to fix it, can't afford to replace it ................ so I shall do without for a couple for years until I save up to get another. In the meantime charity shop bike for me.

DO you know what has gone wrong with the cooker - can it be fixed. Has an element gone in the grill/ oven / hob - does it just not switch on? Did it blow up? Maybe we can help you do a repair instead of a replace?

Did I mention that DS1 signed his contract (and what a contract it is) and is starting work (well, a five weeks course to begin with) on Monday. He is excited and we are so pleased, happy and, let's face it, relieved.
