Pah!!! thought I was going to be superduper smart and be able to reurb the desk for nothing .............. but I don't have enough painstripper for the top.

So, £7 or so for a desk is still pretty good isn't it?

Oh wow! You can't argue with Mother Nature. She knew what she was doing bringing him early. 7lbs is a good enough weight! What lovely news on what has only just turned into a lovely day here.

Inbetween working, i've hoovered downstairs and mopped. I am so pleased to have the energy to do it all again.

MG - i really do agree that £7 is still good going for your roadkill to make it all gorgeous again. I can't wait to see it. You've made me look at a set of drawers I have that actually just need a coat of paint. So there's another job on the list.

Marru, I'm glad you're feeling better today. I can't believe your ex even considered you having to make such a journey. Ooodles of good luck with the job search.

My old house should be advertised in the paper tomorrow. I really do feel positive about it and quite excited. I just need to find the time to go round, when I haven't got the children, to clear as much out of there as I can. He may be moving away (i never know what is / isn't the truth) so either way it's down to me to sort on all levels.

My wish for the future is to not have to learn everything the hard way. I really need to learn to engage my brain prior to my heart :o

Back from swim - why is it I always get to share the lane with the hairy torpedo. Heck the bow wave every timed he ploughed past was like a ruddy tsunami. I guess is second only to elderly ladies who have no sense of lane discipline and wear ill fitting-sagging-in-the-wrong-places swim wear - invest in some decent Lycra I say ( men too) :) Not that I have anything against the elderly keeping fit - just keep to your side of the lane and your body parts safely inside your swimwear

Ewww I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at this vision! Must make a mental note to self for when I come of age and go for a swim :p I usually get the 'torpedo' type and risk drowning when I open my mouth at the wrong time as the tidal wave engulfs me! Sounds like you had a fab morning bar the hospital. Hope the scan went ok :)

Yuck to hairy torpedo - never been a big fan of the hairy man. I shook Ted Dansons hand once - I thought he had mohair gloves on - Yuck yuck yuck!

7 lbs and early is quite enough I think - but welcome to the world wee Baby Albert.

The Desk has had the top stripped - shall leave it to neutralise before sanding back though,

    Off to get boys

What a lovely day to be born!

Excellent day he shares my birthday, indeed baby Albert was born at same time of day as me.
You can tell him he shares his birthday with Michael Caine and Albert Enstein......not bad company I don't think ;)

Congrats to your friend and welcome baby Albert.

Hello peeps. No yellow paper issues today - no handouts:j Had a bit of a meltdown and had to choke back tears (how embarrassing) because I was put under pressure to participate in mock interviews between my classmates - I nearly walked out altogether. Needless to say when it came to me sitting and thinking and then the tutor firing questions at me then I was fine and was fine in the mocks in the afternoon when I was interviewed by the tutors. I am fine with my interview skills so I don't know why I got all het up about it. Funnily enough I was told to read The Secret..so now I will have to hunt for a copy in Waterstones (have £10 voucher to spend).

Marru sorry you didnt get everything that you wanted from the weasel, I have a feeling that he will soon get bored with having your DD stay over during the holidays and at weekends. The nerve of him expecting you to drive to collect her though. Hopefully, you will be able to apply to take her abroad when you land yourself a job back in Finland.

Did anyone see the Hairy Bikers last night? They were travelling through Norway (some fab biking roads out there) sampling bread, buns and other delicacies.

Ewww to hairy men - I prefer clean shaven and neatly waxed chests...talking of chests...I saw a cupboard in the charity shop yesterday for £10 - it was a lovely wooden cupboard at the top with two drawers below. It was £10 because it had been painted a vile shade of blue but I bet that underneath all that paint would be a lovely wooden surface, the handles needed changing too...now...do I get it or wait...? Where would I put it if I did get it?

Scan was straight forward enough radiographer not giving anything away but I had results of blood test that was part of the check up and that is normal so I am hopeful scan will show nothing untoward :)

FYI: CE 125 blood test - marker for Ovarian cancer and scan well obvious really! My mother died young, 6 months after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was diagnosed on her birthday. We share a birthday and I will reach the age she was this year so it was no brainer when the GP asked if I wanted the test and scan etc:o

    Sounds positive Igamogam.

Had to tell my boss to talk to HR and get guidance on UK legislation relating to fitness to work after he made a stupid comment (via IM... I have it saved) about not being sure how long they can manage with me on amended duties. Not my problem, I'm signed fit to work, they can't force me to take sick leave, or get rid of me and that wouldn't exactly help anyway, as they'd then have all the rest of my work for the team to cover. It's only 4 weeks so far and I don't think he knows quite how long I can carry on for like this if necessary.... lets hope HR actually help...
