Oh, and MG, your mini-challenge for a menu for the big day? I have gone one better and done a menu for a whole month to the 6th January! :rotfl::eek: Now I need to do the shopping lists and organise the deliveries! :rotfl:
Lots of love to you all!
:rotfl::rotfl: I have menu planned till the end of January too (including new rotation of packed lunches. Using loads of "planned leftovers" so I hope for a frugal month to hammer down the mortgage and complete the emergency fund building.
BTW today I went into the next thousands bracket - will bounce out again when the actual mortgage interest is paid but soon I will be down there permanently.
Just dropped DS2 old "baby toys" around to the ladies at "Womens Aid" - they are making up Xmas parcels for ladies and their children in shelters this weekend coming and some of the these toys will find a great home.

Sorry to hear your news Teapot - sending condolences and love your way.
Aesop - I shall be careful where journalists are concerned. I hope it is for a tasteful magazine not the trashy Take a Break types.
Feeling grumpy today mainly due to lack of sleep - I had the most horrid nightmare which involved snakes (I have an extreme phobia of them) where I was being bitten on the hand by a leather belt that had become alive and the buckle had morphed into the head which then bit me so hard it exploded:eek: (I don't even wear snakeskin belts, shoes or anything else). I had to switch the bedside light on and then hunt around the bedroom to make sure that there wasn't a snake in my room:(
I emptied my postbox today and found a birthday present from a dear friend - a wonderful box of Guilian chocs which I shall savour. I took my HB cheque to the bank along with more stuff for the charity shop including a pair of ski/snowboard trousers which don't fit despite being large (they come up small) yet I tried my Helly Hansen ones on which are medium and they fit perfectly so at least I will have warm trousers for the winter - I have never worn the Helly's despite buying them in a knock down sale at Bicester Shopping Village.
Also went to the post office - saw the queue and left before going into the dreadful newsagents and buying a book of stamps. Nipped into the butchers too for a small lump of cheese and 2 slices of cooked turkey. I also had an idea for christmas dinner too - a boned turkey thigh as I can get one for £5.99 and I would get lots of dinners out of it with no waste. I didnt buy it preferring to leave it in the shop until closer to Christmas.
Had a letter from the Co-operative Bank - they are positively evil, I have written to them explaining my circumstances and saying that I am doing what I can to payback my overdraft so their interest charges took me over the £150 limit and they then charged me £20 for the privilege:mad: All my paypal money from Pyne Kone is being used to clear down that debt and I have had to withdraw £20 from my bank to take to the post office and pay it in to the business account. I think that when the account is brought back into credit I may just close it because they are the most unethical bank imaginable. I wonder if the credit union will have business accounts?
Dinner tonight is chopped up tomato (old and the mouldy bits chopped off), a chopped up leek, alas the carrots were black so I couldn't use them, I have added a stock cube, water, herbs, black pepper, a splash of Worcester sauce and some thawed stewing steak (half of the pack I bought a few weeks' ago from the butcher). Now I have cheese I will use my last baton and make myself a french bread pizza for lunch using the Morrisons Taste the Difference Chopped Tomato with onion and basil smeared on the top (thanks mum).0 -
How can people steal from orphans? OK that was a rhetorical question.
I've sent money as well OO. If, it's too late for the party, it can go to something else. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Have spoken to the Orphanage, the meat cost around £250.
Popeye is giving us the Rand to take over there tomorrow and every donation to replace Popeye's money gratefully received
(We don't have separate money really, but I'm very aware that I spend/promise away what he earns)
