I'm so sorry, Teapot. I know words can't really help but I am thinking of you and your family and friends.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Thank you ladies for rallying around - there are so very few places on this forum ( well the internet really) that offers such support and you lighten my heart. Teapot - you are within spitting distance of a few ladies on here so if you need help just holler.

Today I have sorted three bags of DS2 old toys to take to one of the kids charity shop (the one beginning with a B). I'd like to think that somewhere there will be little peeps having a great Christmas in "little teapots" honour. It doesn't make the situation any better, nothing will, but it is all I can do at this time for one of our own.

So instead of our "prepare for Christmas" tip today - why don't we make this simple. Lets all do something today to make a child's day better in "little teapots" name.

ETA First snow this morning - just an inch or two - so wrap up warm my friends

  • We have snow falling here, too, on top of yesterday's. Pretty but deadly - there are road warnings all over central and northern Scotland.

Be careful out there, folks. I'm still laid low by the kidney infection and I'm glad I have a good reason not to venture out to work!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Teapot, just came on here after the weekend and am so sorry to hear about your loss. Words cannot express the sadness or the desire to console. Look after yourself and after your friends and family.

Used to get dragged to Trago every single blimmin' Bank Holiday Monday!

Have never eaten there though; mum and dad too miserly to pay!

How do you know Trago Chev?

Catching up and sorry can't figure out multiple quotes

I know Trago as I spent 7 happy years in Plymouth going to the Polytechnic when it was still one. And then living down there for a bit, before moving to Gloucestershire for lurrrv

TMIF/Chev, don’t tell me there’s a Devon Matrix M*fia to rival the Fife one!

:rotfl::rotfl:No I am not in Devon. In fact there is no place I would rather be, but I got carted off to New Zealand. So if you ever need someone to chat to at stupid o clock in the morning, I will be awake :rotfl:

:( To kidney infection Groatie. I hope you are feeling better soon

Groatie hope you are feeling better soon

Well your Christmas mealtime challenge got me thinking about what I have already bought for the big weekend and what else I still need to get. My main worry is am I going to get a 20lb turkey in my oven (dh ordered a fresh one from work.... so which bits can you cut off :rotfl:) If it is too big take the legs off it (which will be one meals meat per leg) and just have a turkey crown (ie the breast), instead. That way you can still stuff it etc.

Had a big birthday yesterday (dh pointed out that collectively we are 100:eek:). Had a lovely family meal followed by a mooch around the Christmas Market really festive with the cathedral and castle lit up, I tested all the goodies and had a mulled wine so all was good OH and I are collectively (works it out on fingers) 92 when the hell did that happen. I miss having family get togethers, but at least my mum is out for xmas.

Hope your plan turned into action.

So, erm, if my freezer had defrosted itself all over the kitchen floor, do you think I could just refreeze everything.... erm, no me neither... what a pain in the bum!

I was banking on all those stashed up left overs too. Poo!

EDIT: I know it was my fault, how daft of me... grr!

Anything that is raw you could put into one big stew, but as for the other stuff, now I would bin it, to be on the safe side.

Hello Matix, I've finally found you :) Have been busy with various fete preparations, a very poorly OH and.......I'm buying a new house! Some of you may remember that I sold my house really quickly, well I've kind of done the same with my purchase, I was the first to see the place and me, DD, my parents and OH all love it, so it's hopefully (if the mortgage goes through ok) got my name on it :) It really does seem to be my time now to move on with my life.

This has been a great year - met OH *swoon*, my work stress has been sorted out thanks to my very kind boss listening to me, DD is growing up day by day to more and more lovely, and whilst my house move is kind of being forced on me due to medical reasons, it's going to be BRILLIANT. Wooho!!
    .
:T:T:T:T to the move, though sorry it is for medical reasons. But as you say it is your turn to move on. And move it seems. Is interesting as there have been several people on here desparate to move, and suddenly they all seem to have found buyers and properties to buy.

So sorry to hear that your little one didn't make it. That must be so hard for everyone.
