  • Would love to join in here – have been reading the Matrix threads.

As you can see from my sig. trying to raise a big lump of cash by mid March when first grandchild is due, so that we have somewhere to live. Caravan life is great for a couple – not so good for a family and poses particular problems for money saving as in very little food storage and cooking space and no freezer.

Nobody in their right minds is going to give us a mortgage, even if we had a huge deposit, so the plan is to raise enough for 6 months rent and 6 months living expenses.

I am working a lot on abundance mentality and positive thinking as well as taking action so this is the thread for me!
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps

The agents tell me that at the moment only people who really want to sell are putting their houses on and only people who really want to buy are looking, the recession is cutting down on people pondering about whether to move or being nosey around houses for sale......I'm so relieved that it's going to work out for me and DD, as I never saw the house I'm in now as my forever house, especially once the exOH beggared off, whereas the new house has such a cosy happy vibe to it, despite the dodgy wallpaper and even dodgier carpets, it's clean, well maintained and DD and I will have fabulous new bedrooms :)

I've just emailed all my documents over to my financial chap who's going to get the mortgage application under way. Fingers crossed that it'll all be smoother than a baby's bottom!

    I'm so sorry Teapot. (((()))))

And mixed news from my visit to the Orphanage this morning, we are due to have our Christmas party on Friday in glorious sunshine. :D
They showed me the room where there are food parcels ready for the family homes, :D the wrapped present for each child :D and the [STRIKE]heap[/STRIKE] Mountain of laundered football gear from which they are making an outfit for every child. And We're passing on to another Orphanage all that is left. :D

They told me about the December 1st (International Aids Awareness Day) gathering. The older children had sat together and talked about their experiences and about the family they lost and then lit a candle. Lots of tears, but also thankfulness and gratitude for what they do have (?)

And last Monday thieves broke in and stole the meat from the freezer, the rice and the vegetables  The party catering is having to be re-jigged. The police have a good chance of catching the criminals, but no doubt the food has been consumed. It looks like that was the target, maybe for their own party.

    Welcome aboard Longships :)

chev multi quote is really easy, under each post there is a speech bubble icon, click on that and a tick appears and when you click on post reply it will pick up all the posts you ticked, although it only picks up a certain amount, say 4 posts. HTH

Oliveoyl - what barstewards the thieves are :( I've still got your bank details saved in my bank account from previously, may I send over some money to help out with buying some more food for the party? I don't know if it would get to you directly or to a UK bank account, but I'd like to help if I can x
  • Me too, Olive Oyl xx
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Teapot, my thoughts are with you and your godson's family.

Oliveoyl, I too would like to make a small donation to help with the party food, please let me know how to get the money to you.

Kittikins, positive vibes for smooth property transactions and you'll be in your new home very soon.

Groatie, healing hugs for you! Also, you've been clearing the way for your house sale so it's bound to be on its way soon.

crickett, hope your voice is ok this morning!

robsmum, your 6 month goal achievements are brilliant. Go you! Can't wait to hear about the next 6 months.

Hugs to everyone else - you're all fabulous.

I've been beavering away at my backlog as I've had a self-imposed deadline of getting it all up to date by Friday 16th December and it's looking achievable. Then I can start the new year with a clear desk and clear mind ready to make a life. A self-sufficiency lifestyle seems to be the way I am heading - growing own fruit and veg etc, but also having enough money to be able to travel to visit friends.

OH would like to have a bigger part in my life too and that's something that needs serious thought. I've been on my own a long time and I enjoy my own space, but also I love sharing time with him.

  • Hello Matrix!

Teapot, I am so sorry for your loss. I will be keeping you, your godson's family and your godson in my prayers. I don't know if that will console you or not, but I hope it does.

MG, I love your idea of doing something for a small child in memory of the little teapot... and I am going to do just that. I am buying a Christmas present for a little girl aged 8 who is foster care in Nottinghamshire. :) And I am also buying a gift for the Salvation Army families in Crisis and Age UK Older person's collection. It doesn't have to cost much, but hopefully I can spread the festive cheer around a little bit more!

Thank you Ocean Spirit, my voice is okay today! I was well croaky yesterday though. And just to brag a little... here is a linky to the review! http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/Review-Nottingham-Harmonic-Choir-Royal-Concert/story-14037272-detail/story.html :D

Rehearsal tonight is for Christmas Carol Concerts in the next fortnight.

Oh, and MG, your mini-challenge for a menu for the big day? I have gone one better and done a menu for a whole month to the 6th January! :rotfl::eek: Now I need to do the shopping lists and organise the deliveries! :rotfl:

Lots of love to you all!

Matrixettes - you are all lovely.

I shall chip in too (when I get home on my own computer) - yet again the Universe sending a message to us isn't it? I hope we can help towards some food towards the party - from the Matrix Aunties and little teapot of course.
