This afternoon I have been mildy entertained by Jeremy Kyle - where does he get these people from?? I have never seen such a bunch of low lifes in all my life. Admittedly, he did have another programme which was all about kids and granting their wishes which was far better than listening to the dregs of our society moaning about schlepping around etc. I also ate some of my chocs:cool:
Ah Mr Kyle - Gods way of saying "leave the sofa NOW!!!!!!" - I know exactly what you mean. I always feel like I should take a shower after watching one of those shows ............. like have been a voyeur or something.

I just plod along as best I can. Some days are harder than others and I generally find that I'm best in the mornings. If I overdo things I'm wiped out for a day or so, but generally I manage. I'm lucky I'm not on dialysis and I'm lucky my son is not a terror (yet).
Got to get off my bum and cook dinner. DS is in bed, OH will be home in an hour, so I need to go and make sure our dinner is ready to go. I think I'd rather skip it and watch Panorama's expose on the supermarkets.SPC - Number 14250 -

Just noticed you are not too far away - if there is ANYTHING you need or I can do - just say.......
Thanks so much CM - I really appreciate this and will PM you if there is a charity.Memory_Girl wrote: »Thank you ladies for rallying around - there are so very few places on this forum ( well the internet really) that offers such support and you lighten my heart. Teapot - you are within spitting distance of a few ladies on here so if you need help just holler.
Thanks for the offer MG and you are so right, although I haven't met you all in RL [or indeed any of you] I feel supported and cared about and thats so lovely.0 -
I feel quite overwhelmed again by all the support and lovely mesages for us all. Thank you all so much, it means a lot :T.
Thanks too to Fantasia and MrsMoo for the poetry - I always wish I could express things as eloquently. I love it when poetry captures the mood or emotion in a few words.
OO I'm going to pm you - really sorry to hear what happened.
You are all such stars :A thank you again. Teapot xx0 -
:eek:Morning ladies - Brrrrrrrrr!!!!!
4 degrees at my desk so I am not opening the curtains until the sun is up. Well it is 9 degrees this side of the curtains so it is a little better.
What temperature is your home supposed to be at anyways?
Its a cleaning up, clearning out kind of day - with a trip into the attic to find some presents for DS2 from DS1's box of saved bits. Tme to start finding the tree and stuff for the weekend to create a little festive cheer.
Today's mini challenge - find a box or basket and a whisk around the house and stash it full of "treats for you". This is going to be your emergency stash for that point in the holidays where you need some time to treat yourself.
In mine I have:
A bar of chocolate soap
A mini bottle of bubble bath
A hot oil treatment
A Xmas Crafty magazine (thanks Elidee)
A relaxation CD
A smelly candle
A tester of lovely perfume
Three Fererro chocolates
A mini bottle of cava
Now the important part - stash your pile of treasure somewhere where you will find it before February but away from any other "helping hands". This is just for you.
Off to make pancakes for breakfast

Morning Matrix. I am a crickett working on lessthan 2 hours sleep. My brain wouldn't shut up, and because I was awake, I was insanely disturbed by hubby's snoring and snorting all night. Feel like hell. Going to survive on industrial quantities of sugar and Earl Grey tea. On the upside, I was able to finish knitting a square for the baby blanket I am working on, as well as begin another one, so not altogether wasted time.
My brain was going over a question I asked myself, and I think it is trying to make a point. I have been pondering for the last few weeks whether I want to have children or not. And I was musing on this last night as I drove home from choir. I suspect my subconscious is trying to make a point about something by keeping me awake!!
Will try and come back later today, but to be honest, I will probably be curled up in a ball somewhere whimpering slightly!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
I like the idea of that secret stash MG.
Hmmmm trying to pick my brains as what to put in mine. Any suggestions??I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Crickett, (((HUGE Hugs))) to you! I felt a little the same last night, it is quite annoying when that brain will just not switch off! I hope you'll get through today okay and get a wonderful night's sleep tonight. You've got a difficult question there, I hope it's not too much of a burden on you at the moment.
Well things have been a bit stressful around here, everything has come together badly to create a very pressurised week with 2 deadlines and a girl who is so tired she just wants to run away. But I am digging in, because by now at least I am a stubborn old goat.
On the upside today is the day that a suitcase of kids clothes is getting picked up from my sister. She just moved house and was having a clear out. I snaffled them and have arranged for them to be taken on Saturday to this orphanage in Kampala, the Sanyu Babies home. I visited there with some little things on my last visit and saw they are perhaps in need of some new clothes. I hope it all goes smoothly as for some reason I am irrationally worried that the pickup won't be made or something will go wrong - not sure why.
Love the idea of the treat box MG.
Hope everyone has a great day.
