The nightmare bok I was Mind Mapping yesterday - says that when implementing change (Doing something new) you should look for whatever you are already doing right. Sitting an exam and having such a teeny margin shows us that your are doing loads right.

Off to wake boys (strange cos wee one is always up by this time) - and I will look out the thai crab cakes recipe for greenbee. Mind you I don't know if I will be making them to photograph today as I cut my thumb last night and the thought of chopping chillies and lime is a bit scary this morning - nippy, nippy!!!

Thanks MG. Not sure I'll be making them today either as I have a horrible feeling this cold may be flu. I have managed to get out of bed, so it probably isn't and I'm just being feeble, but I'll see what happens when I try to leave for my walk in a few minutes.

Carpenter is back this morning, so despite only having two work calls I can't have a duvet day which us what I feel like. And I'm grumpy because I don't have time to be ill!

Failed one, passed one. Not too bad as I sort of anticipated that. I was 8 points short so should pass next time around.

What good news to start your day with. I'm sure you'll fly through your retake ;)

Are your children on half term? Mine are still asleep, which is very odd for them! Usually in the hol they're up with the larks and then need to be shoe horned out of bed on work / school days!

Yowsers  at the thought of cutting chilli and limes with a damaged thumb *shudder*

Kids are on holiday next Wed, Thurs and Frid - we always seem to be on holidays at different times as we still hold to some old agricultural dates.

Thumb is doing that funny throbbing thing - so I do hope managed to clean the cut well enough.

Both lads are up with smiles on their faces and raring to go.

Where is my pot of tea?

  • Well done Marru :T:T

    MG, loved this:

"Both lads are up with smiles on their faces and raring to go."

I'm not normally off work on a Monday but I'm working later in the week to suit the hours of my new start, who's shadowing me. So I have a smile on my face too :D.

So, today the fridge/freezer is going to its new home, then a trip to the dump, trip to the charity shop, and then meeting old friends for a bowl of soup and a natter. Perfick!

Thanks. Managed a two mile walk, so it clearly isn't flu, just a cold, and I need to stop feeling sorry for myself! One of the people I walk with used to be a nurse, so I have been lectured :o and have found some soda water so I can keep hydrated (it seems to be easier to drink than tap water). Plan for today is therefore to rest on the sofa in between pottering around and tidying up ready for the cleaner tomorrow.

You can always give your thumb another clean MG, and maybe stick some antiseptic on it.

Well done on passing the exam Marru :D

Groatie, what you said in your post is very true. Your new garden plans sound lovely. I hope that your two interested buyers get fab offers on their houses soon :)

Marru - Congratulations :j Those are fantastic results, I am sure the re-sit will be no problems next time around.

Bitsy - thanks so much for the good vibes for my Gran. She's the head of the family really, a typical N. Irish matriarch, so thinking about the future without her is so difficult. Mum texted me to say she is speaking now after her stroke on Wednesday, so that's a step in the right direction.

Greenbee - I hope you feel better soon - and your son too Aesop.

Busy busy day. Scaffolding going up as solar panels being installed later this week :) Appt with GP - have a list ! Extra dance class for DD2 who has exam next week. Lots of decluttering planned and must add pics to Eb*y listings. Also need to consult the Great master Plan for 2012 and see where I can catch up this week - almost half way through February and feel I am far behind already. Oh and there is a job application to think about.
