Got given a large George Forman, but no instructions, so how do you clean the plates as they don't seem to come off? Cheers.

    Hiya gt568
They are v difficult to clean I seem to remember that the instructions suggest you use oil on a piece of kitchen roll or soft cloth, BUT that doesn't work v well. Boiling water poured onto it & a J cloth is good. If it is really bad a spray of Cilit bang or something thoroughly washed off works wonders (probably not recommended but it works) I put it on the draining board so the water goes straight in the sink.
    Good luck ;-)

I leave it until its cold and then i use kitchen roll to get what i can off, if theres anything left i use a bit of water and a piece of kitchen roll, so far we've only used it for toasted sarnies so what you use it for you might need to use a different method

it is totally but i did find it easier cleaning while hot and me being anal i dont like the thought of cleaning products in my food so i just use the water and cloth i find it hardest to clean right in the wee bit between where it goes up and down (if that makes any sense) you have to be careful you dont scrape it though as it makes it harder to cook properly with

usually a bit of washing up liquid on a damp kitchen roll does the trick.
If it really wont shift i have sprayed on cheap oven cleaner, and left it for a few mins.

Heat up grill and use damp cloth and plastic scraper that comes with grill. You can also get specific george foreman scourers/sponges that work really well.
