I UU the mouthwash I has anticipated a few days ago. I have replaced that with one in the stash.

I have also set aside some time tomorrow evening to start my packing for London. The toiletry bag has been looked out! I don't think that I will have many UU's by the end of this month. On looking back on my monthly totals over the year this has been the slowest yet. Not many splutterers and all full size products are on the go at the mo :(.

Still I will try and dig out a few travel size products for some quick wins.

  • Crikey Fiasco, I hope this toiletries challenge isn't giving you sleepless nights! Very impressed at you posting at 1.27 am, your Monday night social life must be wilder than mine!

Anyway, the inexorable progression of UUs continues. I feel so smug!

Lee Stafford poker straight glistening straightening balm. Bought a load of these during a Boots voucher spree in 2009, still using the blighters up! I WBA because it makes your hair nice and sleek when applied before you blow dry it and doesn't make it greasy. Plus it smells nice.

The second UU is really an OUT. I had this smallish tube of boots royal jelly and honey shower gel that I had as part of a present a couple of years ago. I never fancied it much but in the spirit of getting down to the dregs of my stash I cracked it open yesterday. Two showers in and I remembered why I don't like things scented with honey. This is just me but I think things like that can smell a bit musty and 'off'. So in a bold move I decided to repurpose it today as.........loo cleaner! It worked really well. No I do not intend to start showering in toilet duck, just wanted to clear that up!

No movers and shakers for me :( I did pick up the freebie body lotion from L'occiataine yesterday (£8.50 for a 75ml bottle ) but I'm not keen on the scent so it will go in my mum's birthday hamper :p Plus I got a voucher for OH so I might end up with one in my stocking anyway! (that'll go in the hamper too :o I'm not afraid to regift :rotfl:)

have a great day - and hopefully a more productive one than mine - I'm waiting in for the delivery of our new mattress. Anytime between 11am and 8pm

    Hello FannyAdams!

Apologies for the epic post everyone!

I have a few UU and a hell of a lot more INs. All my xmas presents have arrived (finally) so I have a mountain of stuff waiting for sunday. Im just telling myself that because of all the UU/GAs I had this month it actually equates to only about 5 "real" INs lol :A

    UU:
yes to carrots body butter - WBA, I love this stuff. does make me smell like muller yogurt but its very nice and rich and not too expensive.
estee lauder mascara sample GA for xmas present
estee lauder eyeshadow palette GA for xmas present
bare minerals small sample GA for xmas present
Vines Veda Ayurvedic face mask GA for xmas present
philosophy hope in a jar moisturiser sample GA for xmas present

Hopefully my bare minerals primer will finish soon too, the tube looks like it must be nearly empty but the stuff just keeps on coming! Also got a bare minerals mascara that I think is on its last legs too.

    IN:

    Glossybox
    Rituals ayurvedic shower gel
    deborah lippman nailpolish mini
deborah lipmann nail polish remover mitt sample
    Blink & Go mascara
me me me moisturising primer sample
    cargo lipgloss mini

    Joliebox
    Mitchell and peach shower gel
yon ka antiageing cream sample (GA to my mum for xmas)
new cid light up lip gloss (yes, this is as tacky as it sounds. It has a light in the lid that comes on whenever you open the tube, presumably for those times you go to apply your make up in the pitch black. if you apply it in the daylight it looks like a shining beacon going "look everyone! I'm doing makeup!!!!!!!")
jane iredale rose gold shimmer power
    opi gold shatter polish
(also included a concealer brush and a tin of Kusmi detox tea which will be very welcome in jan I'm sure :)

MAC iced delights eye bag with:
    2 eyeshadows
    eyeliner
    mascara
    brush & bag

    Elemis set with:
    Cleanser
    Day cream
    body creme
    body wash sample
    body oil mini
    body polish sample
    papaya enzyme peel sample

I know my mums bought me another Elemis set too but I don't know which one and I'm going to attempt to restrain myself in the sales this year too. I'll let you know on boxing day how well this went :rotfl:

I was going to cancel all my beauty boxes but Amarya in the new year but I've decided to only get rid of Glossybox and keep Joliebox too for now.

I seriously thought about getting rid of the lot and I can't go cold turkey on buying absolutely nothing until its all used up, I know i'll just be setting myself up for a major fall. So, I've decided baby steps is probably the way to go then I stand a chance of actually changing and sticking to it for good.

I'm keeping amarya because they promise a full size product worth at least £20 plus one deluxe sample and smaller ones a month for my £10 and joliebox because they actually manage to get new and niche brands so my money definitely won't be thrown away on rubbish and stuff I won't use. Glossybox is kind of going that way already, in the spirit of this thread my mums xmas present is basically half their November box because it was useless to me and other stuff from their boxes thats anti ageing (I'm 23, don't need it) and stuff I know I'll never, ever use.

My aim for the new year is to buy nothing but those two boxes and things I genuinely need until my birthday in march and then see where i'm at with it all.

Again, sorry for the epic post! I hope I haven't bored you all to death!
  • Thank you for the welcome Ladies :D Iknow I'm late in the month but I thought I'd start anyway, if I've done smething wrong can you let me know?

Elvissquid, I have the Jolie Box and Glossy box too, exactly the same as yours. Just waiting for Carmine now :o I need to decide which two subscriptions will be getting culled in January:(

I did my inventory but I only included the things I was keen to get rid of, the samples and half full things and those things I'm not that excited about. I'm not in a rush to get through my nicer/favourite things as i'll be on a tight spending ban in 2012

I have a UU already today - Elemis Tri Enzyme Cleanser, this lasted forever! WIBA? Yes if I felt I need it - dull skin, clogged pores etc.

Should I list my inventory here or just post my UU's? It's 40 products anyway (39 now I UU the cleanser) I'm not likely to work through that lot in December now but we'll see.

    Hello ladies,

Not much action here on the UU front, December is going to be a really slow month.

I have one IN: a Dove shampoo for coloured hair but as the one is use is about half empty, it's a necessary purchase.

My Mum arrived with the SS gift which is under the tree. The card is so beautifully written and the parcel smells nice!

I had a rummage in my stash and realise that I don't need to buy any shower gels / body lotions at all in 2012. They are my biggest weakness. And yet once those sales are on I know I won't be able to resist a good bargain.

Oh, nearly forgot, VALM - congrats on the new job.

    Have a good evening.

just had a delivery from Thorntons(Ok nothing to do with toiletries:rotfl:) two hampers inside a large box which was totally open with the bottom falling out:(...when I openned each box the large santa figures were smashed to bits:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: so totally unusable as pressies, have emailed then but as one of the hampers was free if you spent over £45 I don't know what they will do!They also sent it 2 days early so lucky I was in for the delivery man to show that was how he delivered it but no mention of the flowers I ordered from them at the same time....am not a happy bunny ...be warned ladies
  • Oh no rosemary what a pain! Even though one of your items was a free gift I think i Thorntons will replace it for you - I should think so anyway!
