Oh and I've been on the employment board trying to find out my rights.
My work sent us home last Thursday due to hurricane. Our line manager told us shortly before 2pm that we should go home as the weather was so bad. Today we were told that we will now need to forfeit a 1/2 day of pay or 1/2 day holiday leave (if we have any remaining) for this time. Surely this illegal, if we were given the option of leaving and losing 1/2 day or staying put then we would have stayed. Really quite angry about this as I think to tell us 3 days later is unacceptable, we should have told at the time.
Work are a shower of rogues is me being polite!
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time
  • Sounds like your employer is being a bit maungy! Stand up to them. Cheeky !!!!!!s.

I've also seen the FC bag and wondered why anybody would bother. It's nowt flash, is it?

Anyway, some UUs. Not as many as I'd like, but progress nevertheless.

Dior Addict shower gel. Gorgeous. Smells of my favourite perfume, really dense with scent and lathers up beautifully. So you can guess I WBA but sadly I can't because Dior don't do shower gel any more.

Timotei shimmer shine conditioner. Had raspberry and silk extract in or something. WIBA? It's usually on offer for £1 so I might. It's not the best conditioner I've ever used but it's ok. Quite miss the days when timotei only came in one flavour ("the fresh scent of summer meadows") and the ad showed a girl washing her hair in a stream!

Bourjois liner clubbing in bronze. Really sad to see the end of this. It was great, really precise liquid liner in a great colour that didn't smudge. On to a boots no 7 one now (as with most no 7 items, acquired through those flipping £5 vouchers!)

Also uncovered a sample of Clinique moisture surge gel which I've been trying to use up. Now I know that moisture surge has a lot of fans, I think it's Rosemary who really rates it? but I can't seem to get on with it. It sinks in quickly but the effect seems to vanish in no time so it doesn't seem to moisturise that well. Maybe I'm using it wrong?

Actually was pontificating today to my unfortunate work colleagues that having been prone to oily skin an spots as a teenager (and actually, up to my early thirties) it's payback time now that I'm 40. My pesky skin type at least has saved me from wrinkles!

Bye for now, let's all stay on the wagon during the season of presents and sales!
  • Just checking in to say no movers or shakers, but some potential splutterers so may have UU's at the weekend!

I am doing well in ignoring all mailings for l'occitane, TBS - I aint buying!! Yay!
  • Just popping in again quickly - remembered a UU I forgot to report - gave my Bodyshop Shea Butter gift box to a friend as a birthday present at the weekend. Had been guarding if for myself for a while even though I knew I didn't need it - box set contained a puff (which I don't use) a bar of soap (which I won't use) body scrub (of which I have loads, including a BS Shea one, they last forever and I now prefer the gloves anyway) a shower gel (which I'm ambivalent about) and a body butter - which is the only thing in there I'd use and really want to. And I have another BS Shea butter in the stash, along with a million other butters and lotion (2 BS Shea whip lotions too!!) and vanilla stuff I prefer anyway.

Yet I seemed to have this utter mental block that this gift set was lovely and I'd like to keep it for myself. Why???!!! I genuinely don't get it?! Anyway, managed to catch myself on a rare sensible a logical day, so it's gone :-)

    night all.

Flirtini - That 2012 toiletries box is a nice idea. It'll be interesting to see if your guess as to how much you'll use up is accurate. I can understand about you not wanting to part with a BS gift set, things look so nice packaged up. I bought 4 such sets on a glitch once and have only managed to give away 2!

It's a friend's birthday today and I gave her some toiletries: there's a popular Kneipp range here, all their products are aromatherapy based. She got a relaxing bath oil, bath salts and then some pretty soap I found in the sales earlier this year. I put them all in patterned cellophane, tied with ribbon and it looked so nice and worth far more than what I paid for the items. It just shows how shops do rip you off for packaging things nicely.

    Have a good day

1 (big) in today DS2 sent me a box of sanctuary spa stuff for my birthday:j
went out for lunch (and shopping ) with a friend yesterday and bought the most ridiculous pair of gold high stilletos(anyone knowing my moans about fat feet and toe op will understand how silly this was:rotfl::rotfl:)they were only £25 from marks so even if I only wear them from the car to where I change into dance shoes (dear friend suggested dancing in them:eek:DH would faint if I suggested it and bad trying to walk in them!!!)I am so unused to high heels these days but they do look pretty:))

I do rate moisture surge,it is good for my skin in cold weather or when overdone the sun but won't suit everyone.
annoyed as whilst out(and DH was in) my clarins parcel came and they left a note instead of leaving it in the shed or with a neighbour, the depot is 30 mins away:eek::eek: and this week am so busy that unless they say ok to an afternoon delivery I will have to wait till tuesday:(

The fcuk bag was only reduced to £30, my store had pikes and piles of them, and I can't see them shifting. Previously the fcuk bag has been £18 and £20 I think so why it has increased to £30 is a bit of a rip off. I would maybe buy at 1/2 price but won't make a special trip.
The S&G is ok but again I have stacks of S&G I could make my own OOTW!! :rotfl:so think I'll give it a miss :p

Asset, I know EXACTLY what you mean! I bought one of the S&G pink bags last year (cos you lot kept going on about them so much - I swear I hadn't even HEARD of S&G before coming on this threa *watches everyone else hang their head in shame*) and I still have loads left over. I then bought that box that Boots did online for the discontinued products just after Christmas, and I still have most of that left, too! (Seriously - it has taken me most of this year to use up a Clean Girls and half a Wash Almighty, and I still have hald of the WA left to go!) Good value as it would be as OOTW, I still have loads of other stuff left, so I won't be going mad, as it will have gone off before I get to use it otherwise, and I discovered a big Clean on Me gift pack in the attic when I went digging around for the remains of my sale shopping, so I've got that to use if I don't find someone to give it to over Christmas.

Well done, Flirtini! :T I think one of the joys of this challenge is learning how to become logical about our toiletries purchases: it you are not going to use it, there's little point in holding on to it, is there? Far better it saves you having to buy a present, and provides a little declutter at your house, than you go out and buy something to give away and STILL have something you aren't even keen on to UU on top of everything else. Have a halo for your efforts! :A :T :D

    Maungy - TOP word! :rotfl:

Also, I have hit my thirties (*gulp*). I have a round face and still get spots on my chin (:o ), but I am assured that this will ensure I look younger for longer as the oil does indeed stop wrinkles, and my face won't look so haggard when it thins out a bit with age, as I am told they do. Ah well, there has to be some payback for the amount I've spent on foundation in a lifetime! :rotfl:

I'm the same - I have a Champneys GWP set in my present drawer - it's in there for a reason - to give as a present! But I've taken it out, put it back, taken it, put it back - no-one seems worthy of it :rotfl::rotfl:

I know ('cos I bought it myself :rotfl:) that I've a Champneys skincare gift for xmas so I will either break open the GWP and add it to that or won't like the products and it will be easier to give away :p

(just realised I could have used it as my SS Gift :()

    I have some IN's:
    Pantene Normal-Thick Shampoo/Conditioner/Repair Masque Samples

I genuinely don't remember applying for these as I wouldn't use something for thick hair - I'm guessing they are just sending them to everyone? Just waiting for the Fine Hair ones to turn up now :rotfl: Anyway - will give them ago :D

And - I'll use these and give you a review on them as well as the Coloured Hair ones :D
