    Hi ladies,

Thank you, I think my SS has arrived. Mum said a parcel came but I will ask her to give me more details on the phone. She's visiting for Christmas so will bring it with her. It's a bit sad to admit it, but this is the first time I've ever done a secret santa!!

Sarah - if the African holiday really has been created out of thin air then I think that's awful. I would be very cross.

    I'm afraid I've been very bad:o

I went to the doctors (inside boots) and couldn't resist glam-a-lot

I am on my last body spray in the stash and I've been wanting this for quite a while..

I've decided I'm not counting December as part of the challenge:D

  • Sarah, no it would not be wrong to keep back or even take back some of the small gifts. What a dreadful situation. You poor thing.

Whether the holiday was brought about by the mother in a fit of pique or not, I think that both mother and daughter are being insensitive.

I really empathised with what you said about some of last year's presents being left in a box in her room. The same thing happened to me 2 years ago, the first Christmas I was married. I made an enormous effort to buy lots of nice little things for my stepdaughter, who's now 17, and my stepson who's now 15. They left most of the stuff untouched in bags in their rooms at our house, which they only visit on alternate weekends, and I was just terribly hurt by it. So you're a stronger person than me, I think.

I hope that you and your husband can get through the disappointment and have a lovely Christmas break together. Maybe you should arrange some glam nights out, which you probably couldn't do if your stepdaughter was staying.

I think you are very reserved - Id be tempted to give mother a slap and DD a lecture.... (and a thorough listening to "streets of london" while driving her to the local homeless shelter to help out....)

but as you are lovely (and definately not me!!) I dont think thats a bad idea at all - you could always use them for other gifts through the year.

Cant remember if I said - but thankyou very much to my SS - it arrived yesterday, and yes - im an impatient wench too, and couldnt wait to open it - its gorgeous, cant wait to try it all out !!! And Red says thankyou very very much for her polos (well she will when i give them to her!) thats really thoughtful !! xxxxx
