No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in December Challenge

That's a total of about 5 litres of Shampoo and 5 litres of conditioner -
Would you still let me buy it? :rotfl:
I'm torn. I have enough hair products to last me about 4 years, technically. But I like that the Redken stuff works for me... If I were to get some I would alternate it with the other stuff so everything would eventually be used up....
Ho hum. I think I know that I need to use up some of the other stuff first before I consider purchasing more.. but it's so hard when it's made such a difference to my hair!!!
What would you guys do??
xxxx
You know what we would do, buy the new stuff, that's why we are all on this challenge !!:rotfl:
I always feel rubbish if my hair looks rubbish so I think it is worth buying some Redken for your own happiness.
Could you buy smaller bottles of the Redken? It might be more expensive per ml but it would take ages to use up a litre of shampoo every other wash and I would worry that it would stop working for my hair and end up in the stash!
Thats just reminded me that I get to start a new shampoo tonight, I'll get to shop in my stash, how exciting!! :rotfl:No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
35 UU / 13 unnecessary ins0 -
Rosemary - with those sort of offers I think thats perfectly acceptible !!!
Posted my SS out tonight - you wont miss it recipient - its badly wrapped, I forgot to write on the paper, and there might be some other bits in the envelope too... *mwah ha ha ha ha ha..... rubs hands together with glee...*

Flirtini, if it's making that much of a difference to your hair, you know what you need to do. Just keep alternating it with your stash products too so that you can get them down.
Thanks xxxI sympathise with the hair issues...and that's WAY cheaper than the Kerastase I was buying!
Is any of the other stuff (that you know is no good) unused. Could you sell that on Ebay to recoup some of the money you will spend on the Redken shampoo?
HTH
Unfortunately I don't think anything I have in the way of hair products is really ebayable... But if I go with the idea of stretching out the Redken by using up the stash at least every other wash, then at least a)stash is being used up, albeit slowly, and b) the redken will last me at least all of next year, if not longer!
Yes, I think it's that I can get it at a good price that's got my hooked. I
used to use kerastase years ago when I had blonde highlighted hair - loved it, but I think the 200/250ml standard sizes cost around £30 for the pair! £45 for 2litres is pretty awesome.mad_scientist wrote: »You know what we would do, buy the new stuff, that's why we are all on this challenge !!:rotfl:

ha, that made me laugh!!! Yes, we would all buy it - for some reason I think of you all as the sensible angels on my shoulders, who will offer reasonable advice - I forget you all have the same foibles as me when it comes to toiletries!!!:rotfl:
I'll have a look at the budget spreadsheet tonight (yes, I have one - a page with my overall budget, one that splits out my toiletries into items and budgets them, and there will also be a food page - I am that sad/bored...!) and see just how much price difference there was per 100ml - if there wasn't too much between small and large size, maybe you have a point with getting a small size to use until a big more of my stash is gone and I can justify the spend more....
I love that this forum exists. If I tried to have this discussion with anyone in real life they would think I had completely lost the plot!!! :-D0 -
Ah well, Flirtini, it was worth a go.
Can you swapsie with anyone who uses any of your stash?! (I'm determined to find homes for it all for you! :rotfl:)Please call me 'Pickle'

Been a busy week, I had a new front door fitted today, extra - wide so that my wheelchair using friend can visit without having to use millimetre precision in negotiating it. My son is 28 now, when he was 10 he cracked one of the panels of glass in the old one. There was always something else that needed buying more .. then it wasn't worth it as I planned getting a new door. It's got an Art Deco/Rennie Mackintosh style pane of glass and the locks are brilliant.
Some Avon arrived... haven't opened it yet, can't remember what I ordered, confession later.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Are we putting who it's from on the SS? I've been in a couple where you do and a couple where you don't so I just wondered whether to put from xoxo on the tag or put nothing on it:j0
