Why can't they make people who are able, work for their benefits. Get them cleaning the streets, clearing the dog !!!! up, removing the graffiti, all the things that the normal road sweepers cant be arsed to do. Or helping old and disabled people do shopping or cleaning etc. If below minimum wage, tough ! better than nothing and might actually make them get off their lazy fat !!!!!! to look for a proper job. This should come in after 6 months as it would be unfair to make people who have been working do it.

Also the whole immigration thing should be sorted out. We have 7 holding centres over the country, 1000's of detainees ! why ? I don't see Australia or the US doing this. If your found to be illegal then your out. Wish our country would do something similar.

    I just love that comment!

I have a friend that owns a restaurant/bar in Adelaide and is doing quite well.

They don't have the immigration problem over there simply because as you say, their borders are very secure. Not even a foreign ant or leaf under a lorry is allowed in.

Immigrants that don't have a valid permit/visa over there are not allowed to even land on Oz soil, they are deposited on an island well off the North coast. Those that come via air are quickly turned round and marched back on to the next returning flight and their country is billed the cost, which is taken out of assets held in Oz.

Treble the number of Immigration Officers at all ports, arrest those without proper papers and stick them on the next ferry from whence they came.

France in particular would get the message about being lenient and turning a blind eye to what is going on.
Or even better, keep them all in a holding tank and ship them once a month to the old French prison on Devils Island. Then the message will get out that they are not wanted here!!

We will never get to do that like Oz. (a) We too soft, (b) we have the HR Act which allows this to happen and (c) our government is too weak to implement any changes because of the HR and the weird way OTT discrimination laws we have. Why do you think they cross so many other borders to get to us? They know we are a soft touch, they know they can have our benefits without having to pay towards them like we do. And if we refuse, they scream discrimination and we, like idiots, fall for it! Unless we start to fight back at the ballot box very very soon, this country is doomed. Sometimes you have to goa bit too far in your actions so that later, when things have been sorted out, you can drop back to a governing level that is good for your country. At the moment we are way beyond what is good.

Oh yes the HR act !! Scrap that too while your about it ! And pull out of the EU completely as we are just paying for EMP's to have nice lunches in Brussels.
Problem about the borders is the only party who would do anything about it is the BNP. Having them in power would be even worse, god help us if that happened.
Just think of the amount of jobs that would be available to the young lazzyites if we controlled the borders properly. Yes they wouldn't like it but it's easy to make people work if you take away their money.
Put a massive electric fence around GB !!

I would like to point out to Suarez that the comment made about the rise in benefits is the cause of the state of our country,Well I am in reciept of disability benefits after having an accident at WORK, It is likely that I will never work again,so for doing my bit & paying my taxes etc has left me like this, but I don't sit on my backside all day watching Jeremy Kyle & I resent you for sayng that, doing my bit & paying my taxes etc has ruined my life, so I consider I am owed by the State BIG TIME,So please don't tarnish us all as being a bunch of layabouts as there are many many more people like me that have been forced into having to live on benefits for the rest of their lives,my accident happened when I was only 18 years old & I am now 45,so believe me when I say I would rather be working if I could & benefits are only the bare minimum you need to live on & the costs of living today, it isn't even enough to live on.So please don't think that everyone on benefits is a layabout who doesn't want to work,We just "CAN'T"

Get a grip! I have never been against anyone receiving benefits. The ones who are cheating the system, yes!

It was the rise of 5 odd % that I was complaining about. It's hardly going to encourage the people who are not attempting to even find work.

As a worker im really glad that there is an increase, im already over 2k down this year in wages as i haven't been able to get the overtime due to a drop in sales, the more people spend the more secure my job is.

Unless you work in McDonalds or Sports Direct it wont be affected..

That's exactly what happens in Oz!!! The landing areas (ports & airports) are ringed with electric fences. There is only one way in and one way out otherwise you would fry!

We could but I feel that there would be some opposition from the current encumbants!

However we could move the current population to either Jersey, Guernsey or maybe the Isle of Man. They would certainly go for that idea, leaving a barren island ready and waiting. Give them each a fishing rod and a box of matches. At least they wouldn't go hungry and would all feel at home with each other. We could have day trips round the island and wave to them. When they started to fall of the edge of the island due to over population, maybe they would stop coming over?
    Natures way of creating balance.
