Why would anyone in their right mind sit down with a nice cuppa to that Benefits Basher Jeremy Kyle. (looks at wish list plans to get 'chavs the demonisation of the working class).
Haven't you ANY idea how those on benefits are being persecuted and harassed.
I am jolly pleased for a change. But I am sure Osborne has done it in order to ferment hatred towards this vulnerable needy class.
I think you need to read a few Benefits claimants blogs like
Benefits Scrounging Scrum to get the other side, then you might change your mind. (otherwise this is just a boring tedius MSE response for a deluded lot of right wingers who have no economic reeasons for doing so but who haven't woken up yet)

Have you got links to these benefit claimants' blogs please?
  • Oh right, so I gorge myself on £300 of food a week and spend the rest of it working out in a gym to burn the calories off!!

Who on earth can spend £300 a week on food?

The key word, if you re-read my point, is COULD.
  • Is it me, or do benefit bashers seem more knowledgable and interested in jeremy kyle than claimaints?

I watched it once but the pimpled fat greasers made me want to vomit. Thankfully it's not on in HD.

Here are two blogs I read regularly and one of them I think is the one WBQMS was referring to:

As a worker im really glad that there is an increase, im already over 2k down this year in wages as i haven't been able to get the overtime due to a drop in sales, the more people spend the more secure my job is.

The actual financial gain to those in receipt of benefits will be tiny.
I'm sure it's been a shrewd move and judging by some comments on here, its having the desired effect.

Whilst us minions fight among ourselves it keeps us from turning much needed attention to the big wigs at the top of the heap, which all appear to be excessively rewarded from the tax payers pocket for messing up.

The UK could be saved a fortune if the unnecessary luxuries were curbed.
In 2010 it was estimated Chequers cost tax payers £620500 a year to run http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1304906/Prime-Minister-David-Cameron-rents-home-72k-year.html
£680,000 of taxpayers' cash was spent on Downing Street http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/may/27/david-cameron-taxpayers-home-improvements

Public sector job cuts are expected to hit 600,000 by 2016. The UK has the largest unemployed figures for 16 years. The private sector is struggling - It needs tackling, big savings could be made if they were implemented on the excessive privileges and luxuries, paid for by the public purse, for those implementing the austerity measures.
    A fairer CSA for all

I think all the foreign people coming into this country should be stopped. They are taking English jobs and benefits. Foreign people jailed in this country should be deported back to their own country to serve their sentence and be financially looked after. Then this country would be in a better state of affairs and English people could get English jobs.

Oh dear, this is turning into a typical DT thread. Who should we hate today, benefit "bashers", benefit "scroungers", Etonians, fat people, foreigners, or tories?

Nobody's mentioned bankers yet, surely the usual rant about banker's bonuses is well overdue?
  • Of course benefit "bashers" know more about the system than those who are of working age...they have to know more as they're involved with it and, except for those who are fiddling the system and cheating by working "on the side", the amount of benefit is so difficult to live on. My wife is a whiz with shopping and we do ok, but not everyone has her "savvy". Most young people today have little or no idea how to save money so if they end up on benefit they can't cope. They're used to buying packaged, precooked meals etc. and have no idea how to prepare fresh veg etc. You can even buy frozen ready to use gravy! What a fiasco!! And those "ready meals" cost a fortune. The benefit system is not designed for living, only "existing". Essentials only are catered for. Oh and by the way, I don't listen to JK!

severn day weekend. Of course you are right, I've had that email several times and the figures are completely wrong and unrealistic. But you have made the mistake of forgetting something. Immigrants may or may not be entitled to the same level of benefits in cash as the indigenous English who have paid in something towards it, but they get other benfits to which we rarely or ever get. From the moment they come into the country they get free housing, all taxes paid, no council tax to pay. Building is now taking place in the east midlands which is the next area designated to be flooded with immigrants. The housing is already allocated according to the following: 75% for immigrants & 25% for those on the housing list! And this figure is repeated all over the country. This will not make a noticeable dent in the housing waiting list. It is this sort of thing that is adding to our problems. Who authorises this? Who sits in a darkened room and comes up with these ideas? They obviously don't live in the real world. Oh, by the way, J Clarkson should be shot after his remark on the BBC. I wonder if he would like to try and live on the pensions we get? And in an area where the level of immigration is increasing daily! I bet there aren't any near his house!
