  • This cake is really good tastes like a really expensive wedding cake to me. I made it Sunday, Marzipan on it yesterday. Iced it today but could not wait for it to set, I had to have some. Soooooooooo nice!

    oh now thats an idea! my brother is getting married in May, do you think I could bake one in Feb and keep it for the wedding?
    I had already said i could make his cake for him!

    Hope this helps...was made in a 16.5 cm circ tin and has ended up 10cm deep after icing....:)

    thanks for that. Last year i made the delia one from her website and so wanted to compare the size with that. i think i will buy the mix today and make this one

    yours looks better than the pic as well. very professional looking

    Wow Sloe Gin is that home made that is my favourite not like the Gordons rubbish, now that would make my christmas don't drink it all at once, my Aunt use to put it in the ground for years and we used to find it and drink it, those were the days
