I have the same issue with my DD and my HP Touchpad. The thing wont turn on now at all and doesnt "blimp" when you put the charger in either, so I think that she has broken the adapter/connector bit in the pad and used the battery to within an inch of its life.
So thats £50ish for a charging dock to see if thats the case.
And all I got was "It was fine when I used it". Of course it was fine! Otherwise you wouldn't have been able to use the damn thing. Its the during and after that I am bothered with.
So I am standing in solidarity with you here. She is NEVER using my stuff again. With the exception of the bathroom....
that sounds perfectly fair to me.
Victory you already know you are fighting a losing battle locking horns over an old phone. I know it p**s you off, and it seems to be a pretty much constant thing between you and your DS, but I'd be doing the same as skylight. Replace your phone (it doesn't cost more than about a tenner to do so if all you use it for is calls and texts) and then he doesn't get to borrow anything from you again.0 -
but do you know it was?! did you finish a call then hand it straight to him?!
as I said before, my old handset still had the display showing, gave the correct time, my alarm was going off when it was set for etc but when someone tried to call it stated there was a fault or that I was engaged or it went to voicemail (and there was me feeling unloved, that nobody wanted to talk to me/text me) and as I had used my credit I couldnt call them!!
it was only when my mom called me at work and said she had tried calling my mobile first that I realised it was broke!
NO, I had taken calls that morning (and made some also) he was due in at 1pm the last call I had was 12.30pm within that 30mins it stopped working? Uhm.0 -

Wikepedia says it best
Conscience is an aptitude, faculty, intuition or judgment of the intellect that distinguishes right from wrong. Moral judgement may derive from values or norms (principles and rules). In psychological terms conscience is often described as leading to feelings of remorse when a human commits actions that go against his/her moral values and to feelings of rectitude or integrity when actions conform to such norms.[1] The extent to which conscience informs moral judgment before an action and whether such moral judgments are or should be based in reason has occasioned debate through much of the history
It is having a conscience and the principle not the mobile itself, honesty and trying both of us together to find a solution not a shrug of the shoulders and oh well so be it0 -
I will ask him if any of his teenage friends hs an old mobile knocking about as suggested, if not tomorrow into town see how much the repairs are and how much it costs, if not a new one, then it can be deducted because of principle:D
I'm sure as someone else (sorry can't remember who) pointed out, his mates will have an old phone knocking about that he can give you.
No cost to him or you, unless there is an unlock required, but at least you'll get a bit of "him sorting out a solution" responsibility.
Good luck but I'm not holding my breath
