Hi there
Dont know if i am posting in the correct forum but i have just gone through my online banking statements and added up my charges which was a lot and added the interest but i do not have the statements and dont really know how much they cost , do you think the bank will just do print outs of charges instead of just statements and if so how much do they charge? i have 11 in total and i bank with lloyds tsb
hope somebody can help me
thx in advance0 -
send off the letter requesting a list of charges and enclose a cheque for £10 in case they send you the statements. that is the maximum they can charge you for the information under the data protection act (correct me if im wrong someone). Ive sent 3 letters off, mint and hsbc didnt cash my cheque and i presume GE havent either as its not been taken out of my account. But yes £10 is the amount you need to pay sorry i tend to digress.

The alternative is to print off your on-line statements (only the ones with charges) and use those. It will save you waiting for a SAR0

Yes and it does state this in Martin's guide.0 -
All banks/credit cards can and do charge for copy statements. You must send £10 with the template letter in Martin's article asking for the information held under the DPA.

my husband called virgin abot our credit card last night asking for a list of our charges and they told us they dont issue charge lists but we can get copies of all our statements since the account was opened over 2 years ago at a cost of £2.50 EACH! can they charge us ths much? also she started asking us loads of questions like why do you want them why do you want the charges back if we started giving charges back we would be bancrupt! think she was trying to convince us we couldnt get any charges back. we ended up ending the call without finding out how much it will cost us in total or where to send the letter to! has anyone else encountered this problem with virgin? what is out next step?0

£2.50 for a statement is cheap. I'm sure others charge a fiver.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

How far back can you go if you went online for your statements?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
