It has nothing to so with paying in £1500 a month, their score is actually about your credit score as I have paid in over £1500 for six months and they told me that I don't qualify.
Thanks for that.
I am coming up to my 3 months next week, and I would quite like the OD. I need a holiday. Anyway, I pay in excess of £1500 per month, and I have chosen not to downgrade my account, as I will be taking advantage of their phone and travel insurance.
I will let you know how I get on! My credit score is "Poor"0 -
I posted a cheque yesterday to be lodged in my account. Couldn't find their freepost address so used the one inside the lodgement book and a 1st class stamp. How long does it normally take for it to show on your account.0

Hi all. Re the o/d.........we were declined.Citi actually sent me a very nice letter , explaining that the o/d is NOT CONDITIONAL upon the amount you pay in , but on your credit score , and that , at the moment my score isnt good enough to be granted an o/d. I was quite p'd off , cos i was led to believe from their info , that basically if you pay in £1500 + per month you get an o/d , and this is plainly not the case.
Anyway , hth someone.

That is what I was led to believe when I requested an OD online. The reply was I did not meet their score as I do not deposit £1500 a month. I must do this for at least 3 months.0 -

Can I ask how long you have had the account for?If I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -
Hi Marcellep.....basically i emailed them with regard to the account charges coming into effect.I pointed out that I was given a 2 in 1 card , not 3 , and that I would be already paying the charge before the "magic" 3 months o/d etc etc.
They then emailed me back asking would i like to apply for o/d now , as finances going in regularly etc. so i did.
then had letter as i said in post above.Im frantically trying to find the letter now , so i can let you all know the exact wording of it , but i do know it said o/d was conditional upon credit score , not payments in.Although it did say my credit score wasnt good enough "at the moment" so who knows how they decide these things!! anyway , i'm still happy with my account , although i am going to downgrade now to the non fee paying one, lol. basically just wanted o/d to cover cheque clearance times....oh well.
if i find that letter , i'll put it on later.

3. Overdrafts 3.1. An automatic overdraft of £500 is available to You subject to status. You will be eligible for the automatic overdraft if You domicile Your salary into the Account.
3.2. Unless the Bank has agreed otherwise, a fee may be applicable and interest will be charged at the applicable overdraft rate.
3.3. A further overdraft may be granted at the Bank's discretion. A fee may be applicable and interest will be charged at the applicable overdraft rate.
subject to status. so I assume they mean your credit score then.

what a day I have had trying to sort out ebay/paypal. my ebay account is in my name, yet my paypal account is in my son's name, due to him having a switch card, so I bought something today and realised that I hadn't changed the card detail's, so duefully tried, but paypal wasn't having any of it, so I set up another paypal account, that didn't work either, you can not put 1 one into 2 paypal account's so I cancelled my new paypal account, and then removed his card from the payments option and I think I did it successfully as it now shows up on both ebay and paypal that it is my citi card so hopefully I will be able to pay for this item and the other 2 that I am bidding on.
phew
