Section 19.1 states "Subject to condition 15, your contract may be varied or amended only by the express mutual agreement of both parties. A party seeking to rely on such variation or amendment must provide evidence of the other parties agreement to it." Section 15 then refers to 4.3 which talks about the rubbish to do with increases are permitted below the rate of inflation. However the question is if we don't agree to the price rise surely they have not fulfilled the agreement specified in section 19 therfore making the contract void?0

So which one of you (assuming you all 1st posters are actually different people) are going to take them to court? I'm waiting to have a laugh, could do with some hot air to raise the ambent temperature and keep my gas usage down0 -

Not sure why so many of you are fantasy bargaining that the finance team did not consult their legal bods before the implementation of the changes, the laugh isn't from what Orange have decided to implement, it's from the responses on here that they (the posters) are going to do this and do that, vent your dissapointment by all means, but at least be honest that it's not going to change anything0 -
Have read the entire 27 pages of this thread (took hours) and have an interesting question.
Should Orange start allowing customers to cancel their contracts due to the proposed price changes, would it be possible to cancel the tie in period only but remain with Orange?
I am not intersted in moving, but would like the option to should i later decide they are taking the michael. I currently use my allowance of mins and mobile internet, so a lowering of my tariff is not an option.0 -

I don't think people are getting their hopes up about changing anything. But surely letting Orange know that people are disappointed and that it WILL have an impact when it comes to renewing contracts is better than b*tching and moaning on a forum but not actually doing anything? Anyway, it's worth a try at least.0 -
I'm sorry but inflation has been constant(ish) for the last few years now. Why is it now necessary to implement a "one off" price hike to reflect rising costs. I'm quite sure the hundreds of pounds I pay towards my mobile have this factored in. A contract is a contract. It is designed to protect both parties.
They want to change that contract but none of us do. I propose a cancellation of our direct debits. If they want to get the money from me they can then contact me to discuss my concerns over the renege on my previous agreement. I don't see any point on the page where you choose your contract package price. They might aswell post iPhone 4 500 mins, 500 texts, 1gb data for whatever price we feel like. Not satisfactory and consumer protection needs to be enforced.0
