thats the shop my delivery comes from too

@ mummyroysof3 ....It's a small world! I don't live right close as such, about 20 mins away but it is where my order always comes ... I did used to live close to Oak Tree though, so I tend to go there a fair bit cos it's a whopping big store and never seems that busy!
  • I booked a slot yesterday afternoon for 22nd December.

Just had a look and the only slot available for 23rd is 9-11pm and 22nd slots are all gone.

Glad I remebered to book yesterday.:)

Exact same for me too,but I booked my 22nd slot yesterday,I got up at ten to midnight last night to switch on pc to change my slot to 23rd when it changed date at midnight all slots had gone until the 9-11pm slot which is a bit late for me so I left it the way it was. I have just looked and even that slot has gone now. I may try again tonight for the 24th but am a bit worried that I may not get what I order and then it would be too late.

I thought this site was about moneysaving?? you wont save money by getting your stuff delivered days before Christmas.

Are people seriously worried about getting their shopping delivered for Christmas - guess they must be more religious than I thought - going to church on Christmas Eve?

Will save time by someone else doing your shopping and as the saying goes "time is money". :D
It's only a bargain if you need it.

But as well as saving money, there are issues about quality of life. Frankly fighting my way round the supermarket on 23/24 Dec is NOT likely to put me in the christmas spirit , particularly with my 12 y.o. son & 81 y.o. mother at home waiting for me .

Much better that I spend my time & energy with them, and spend £5.50 on getting our food delivered
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

Out of interest, what will people do with the time they save - I remember my wife saying that she was in the hairdressers one day and a woman who was having her nails done said that she had her shopping delivered because she didn't have time to go shopping.

I have my shopping delivered all year round because I live so far from the nearest supermarket that it is far more practical. As I don't drive and my husband woiuld have to shop with me it saves me far more than the cost of the delivery. I can keep a better eye on what we are spending without all the extras he would be throwing in. He once went out to buy a frozen chicken and spent £35.:rotfl:

As for the Christmas delivery, mine is being delivered on my normal day of the week and the time I save will be spent with my disabled Mum and my children. I have two sons at university who will be home for Christmas and I would far rather spend time with them and my daughter than be stuck shopping in a crowded supermarket.

I can remember the days pre internet, waitng 25 minutes in a supermarket checkout queue at Christmas. I am very glad that the introduction of the internet means I no longer have to do that.
