New to online grocery shopping so when I book a time it says that I have to check out before I can keep that slot but I don't know yet what groceries I want so how do I keep my chosen slot? Thanks

Put enough in your basket to qualify for delivery, go through checkout process, then go back in closer to the date and amend your basket with all your Christmas goodies. I've just booked for Asda and I can amend it up until Dec 21.

I got my usual Thursday slot for Sainsburys so am pleased with that. It means I can pop in on Friday night and pick up any extras and use my £30 in Nectar points to pay for it!!! Thanks for the reminder - I'd have forgotten otherwise.
  • I've booked Tesco Thurs 22nd in the morning, so hopefully will maximise the chances of everything being available, but will still leave me time to top up on oos items if need be. £5 delivery in my area NG16 Notts so not bad I guess... we are lucky enough to be near one of the Tesco's that has built a new order collection point at the edge of the car park, for those who do not wish to wait in or pay for delivery ... that's Mansfield Oak Tree btw ;)

All Tesco's slots are £5 at Christmas week.

Some save with that but we paid £3.00 for a Wednesday 7-9pm slot last week ;) And we are having the shopping delivered, yes you guessed it, Wednesday 21st 7-9pm.

Mum was up at the crack of dawn today and booked asda for 23rd for us to visit for xmas! Last year coz of the snow it was meant to arrive 21st in the morning, finally made it 22nd at 11pm. They 2 guys had to park in another street coz of the ice amd we all had to troop back and forth with the shopping! Hats off to the drivers. they were lovely but said all they'd had was abuse from customers for being late! LOL! In my mums neck of the woods in the country, tesco, sainsburys and waitrose just cancelled all delieveries! One of my my mums friends had a call to ask if asda could do a drop at 5am xmas eve to make up the shortfall, she was delighted as it meant she didnt have to traipse to asda on xmas eve herself!!! PS Im normally a tesco girl, just thought this great service from asda x

I've never done an online food shop before but I am recovering from a broken foot so it would be ideal for me. I have booked a slot for w/c 19th December, do I just make a provisional order and pay for it now, then adjust it near the time? Also, is there a minimum shop amount needed.
Finally, if I reserve a slot nearer Xmas, can I still do another online shop ie for next next week or can I only have one on the go at any one time? sorry for all the questions. I am looking on the asda site.

    Thanks for your help.
